Story
Most Americans dismiss George III as a buffoon - a heartless and terrible monarch with few, if any, redeeming qualities. The best-known modern interpretation of him is Jonathan Groff's preening, spitting, and pompous take in Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda's Broadway masterpiece. But this deeply unflattering characterization is rooted in the prejudiced and brilliantly persuasive opinions of 18th-century revolutionaries. After combing through hundreds of thousands of pages of never-before-published correspondence, award-winning historian Andrew Roberts has uncovered the truth.

Normally, I have the attention span of a gnat. I'm really surprised this book held my attention so long. They did a beautiful job of developing George's character, and compelling me to want to know more. I picked up this book because I loved Brigerton and the Queen Charlotte series on Netflix. I wanted to know more about George . The other reason was I have binge watched all the episodes of thd series I mentioned , and was craving more stories about Charlotte and her husband. This book did not disappoint! it was 36 hours of entertainment for $17. I enjoyed every minute of this book. Highly recommended!!!

Story
In 2017, Leonardo da Vinci’s small oil painting the Salvator Mundi was sold at auction. In the words of its discoverer, the image of Christ as savior of the world is “the rarest thing on the planet.” Its $450 million sale price also makes it the world’s most expensive painting. For two centuries, art dealers had searched in vain for the Holy Grail of art history: a portrait of Christ as the Salvator Mundi by Leonardo da Vinci. Many similar paintings of greatly varying quality had been executed by Leonardo’s assistants in the early 16th century.

Needs editing
Reviewed: 11-20-23
The book started off interesting. About two thirds the way through, it started going down rabbit trails. A highly controversial political figure was mentioned. It didn't help the story. The last few hours were interesting again. This book seriously needs a good edit. Information not directly related to the Salvatore Mundi or DaVinci should be removed. The narrators accent was really thick. His delivery was a bit on the monotone side . The performance of the book has room for improvement.

Ramblings of selfish older woman dumped on younger woman. The more I learned about Nadine, the less I liked her. This book was not worth my time. I was hoping there would be some more focus on the woman into the thought process of a woman headed into arranged marriage. How would she overcome her fear about marrying a stranger? How would she know he was the one? I never got to know whether marriage happened or not. That was very annoying.

But consultant, psychologist, and bestselling author Dr. Henry Cloud sees endings differently. He argues that our personal and professional lives can only improve to the degree that we can see endings as a necessary and strategic step to something better.

The garden pruning analogy to necessary endings in life really helped me. I used to view endings as hurtful or bad. I dreaded them. However this book changed that. Now I see endings as opportunities to clear away what is impeding growth or causing pain. Done correctly, " necessary endings", can be a catapult to some really stuff. This book went by really fast. I was hanging on his every word.
