Story
To say Sheriff Natalie Strand is shocked that Sarah Eastman, the girl who kissed her at a high school party, is back in town would be a huge understatement. Between Sarah’s return and a stray dog that gets the best of her, Natalie’s world is suddenly turned upside down. They say you can’t go home again, but that’s exactly what Sarah does when she returns to Oregon to live with her aunt and uncle after her divorce. All she wants is peace and to ensure her daughter, Harley, has stability. Seeing Natalie again after 17 years ignites a passion that she hasn’t felt in a long time.

Story
Park ranger Kyler Clemons had loved the vibe and the beach of Mustang Island. Getting caught with her boss’ wife, however, got her transferred to the wild and remote Davis Mountains State Park - in the middle of nowhere. Now after four years, she’s forgotten about the beach and has embraced the mountain life, feeling like a local. She hangs out at the Cottonwood Creek Bar and Grill. She watches football with Mark Walton. She’s taken up birdwatching and stargazing. She is perfectly content. No stress. No drama. And no desire to date. Then Lexie Walton waltzes into her life.

I have been reading Ms. Hill's work for a very long time, while I enjoyed this book it won't be one of my favorites. Guess I didn't expect it to be so tranquil in tone. I did love Abby Craden she did an excellent job narrating the story.

Kari Adelberg is happy. She has her friends, family, and a dog. What else could she need? At least, that’s what she keeps telling herself, unwilling to think about what she lost until it ends up next door to her. Kacey Caldwell was the one that got away. They were college sweethearts and had plans for the future until Kacey ripped those plans apart with no explanation. Now, she and her young daughter own the house next door to Kari’s, and Kari is not sure how to act.

Really enjoyed listening to this story. The two ladies brought back together by faith and their story about getting back together. Flash backs were great for letting you know how they got to where their feeling and what they need to work through. Narrator was very easy to listen to. The combination made a great story to listen to. A great listen.

Great book to listen to though I didn’t feel that it was so much Sci Fi, but I did enjoy listening to it. Wasn’t too sure about the May-December romance. Would like to see more about Sal – sounds as if she would have a really interesting story.

Story
A woman who has been missing for three months is found dead with over 200 tally marks carved into her skin. For Detective Amy Sadler, who is still recovering mentally from a past undercover operation gone wrong, the case is as unsettling as it is frustrating. As more bodies appear with the same tally marks, Amy's only solace from the seemingly unsolvable case is the romance blooming between herself and forensic pathologist Dr. Lira Ward, a beautiful soul with a past even she doesn't understand.

Great debut novel. A very emotional story with charming, believable characters. It flows well with so many emotions, the ghostly visits during Cams dreams were a nice addition to the story. I enjoyed that the characters were older and that the romance took time to build. The telling of what Cam had to go through because of her autism in dealing in social settings was a great addition to the story. Great building of the characters and story line. Was well worth listening to.

Story
Some of Diana Lindstrom’s fondest memories involve childhood experiments conducted under the watchful supervision of her Great-Aunt Nora... Now, a sought-after scientist herself, Diana learns that Nora is dying. She hires private-duty nurse Brooke Sheldon to take care for Nora. Determined to help the two younger women find the kind of deep love they so richly deserve, Nora makes a fateful decision that brings the past and the present directly onto a collision course. After all this time, it’s still about chain reactions.

Excellent story
Reviewed: 11-15-19
This story does an excellent job of blending the lives of the three main characters. The story of love lost and of a new love that is starting to grow. It tells the history of one of the women scientists in WWII who worked at Oakridge that helped win the war yet were not given credit for all they accomplished. This is definitely a must read. This is the first book that I have listened to by Ms. Ames and I look forward to reading more of her works.

First time I have listened to a book by this author. Her character development is marvelous, the way she shows us how Celeste coped with her abusive upbringing and how she now copes over new developments during the course of the book. What happens when Olivia is added to her private world. An interesting book for anyone looking for an unusual twist and turns in the story with a romance thrown in.
