Story
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

I loved listening to your book. It is only my second listen to any book. The first was my nieces book, The Other Side Of Perfect. By Debbie Emick. Give it a whirl.
Your book made me feel comfortable and I felt so many connections, life just has its parallels. Not that my life is in anyway like yours. Just that something’s ring a strong bell. I am sure I will listen again. Green light.
I am going to have more green lights. We all need more of them. This world needs more green lights. More love and more happiness.

Story
One woman’s tale of her journey beyond perfectionism and people-pleasing to return to her authentic, wild self. The Other Side of Perfect is a brutally honest and revealing peek into the life of a woman whose multiple diagnoses and bleak prognosis would be the surprising source of her ultimate liberation. After trying everything she knew to recover from the physical damage of autoimmune diseases—medication, nutrition, fitness, reducing stress—Debbie found her health continuing to deteriorate and in the deepest depths of depression she’d ever experienced.

Thinking you knowSomeone ?!

Thinking you know, someone only to find out that you don’t even know them at all.
I have known Debbie for almost 30 years it seems, and I just realized today, that I never really understood the pain and sorrow, she went through as a child. I did know the perfect. I did want to always pleasing, always happy. I have worried for this child, even grieved and cried on my own, after learning of her diseases. That’s just a little part.
This book makes me realize that you do need to ask the deep questions, the hard questions. So that one can learn to understand a person.
I am only half way through this book. I have the urge that I need to go back to the beginning to learn and understand more.
Debbie is one of the strongest people I know in this life.
Worth everyone should read this book!!
Forever grateful to have this young person in my life.
