This was so good I listened to it twice-- the second time right after the first. I wanted to pay more attention to the details than I had on the first listen and once I started I could not stop.

I love Indian writing and Indian novels but this one, not so much. It dragged on forever and the denouement was predictable. Full of third world problems. The narrator was great, however and I did finish the book.

Simply ridiculous-- like a parody of a thriller. I gave it it two stars simply because I listened all the way through. Bad enough to give me a good laugh.

I love Dolly and she was the perfect choice to read the book. It got a bit tiresome when every song was one of her favorites, every person in her life was the greatest, etc. Wish she had written more extensively about her early life and her family.

Here are the thrills, grandeur, and unabashed fun of the Greek myths, stylishly retold by Stephen Fry. The legendary writer, actor, and comedian breathes life into ancient tales, from Pandora's box to Prometheus's fire, and transforms the adventures of Zeus and the Olympians into emotionally resonant and deeply funny stories, without losing any of their original wonder. Much impressed with her willingness to so honestly tell her life story. Frankly I found the descriptions of Colin's behavior fascinating but horrifying and Glenconnor's acceptance and long suffering was amazing. Different times for certain but I was never envious of the glittering lifestyle. Better to have my own faithful husband, raise my own children, work in the garden and go to bed early. Her narration was wonderful-- her own voice telling her own story. Easy to forgive some gulps and swallows in a woman of her age.

Story
At once profoundly personal and far-reaching, Exit Interview with My Grandmother serves as a meditation on the beginning of a young woman’s life and the series of questions that arise from examining love, loss, family, memory, and death. Moving between cities and centuries, Meyersohn probes her family's Jewish history and her grandparents' relationships in part to decipher her own young queer relationships, but also to examine how we ought to behave in the face of a world riddled with uncertainty and doubt.

Mixed feelings about this one
Reviewed: 09-11-20
I loved the grandmother and was happy that they used her voice in the narration. I am too old for Sally Rooney ( did not like the one book I read last summer but my daughter loved it) and old enough that I feel bemused by lesbian love but I appreciate Lily's desire to think about her life in context with her grandparents and the Holocaust. She did a great job with the narration.

Have had this in my library for a long time but when i got around to listening I was hooked. If I had been reading it I might have choked on the torture details but since I was listening i just worked on my jigsaw puzzle and let it roll along. Narrator was great. Too bad the author only has one book. Now I think I will go back and relisten to the Steig Larson books-- already in my library.
