This book was incredibly boring. There was a lot of information and wasted time spent on things that didn't affect the story.
The book doesn't just tell you something like "The hobbits were in high spirits and sung a song as they traveled". No no, instead it actually sings their entire song from start to finish that doesn't matter for anything happening at all.
The book doesn't just tell you about the Hobbits in the Shire and how they are and act, they tell you about, in fact it doesn't even do that. Instead it has all of these long and drawn out interactions with different random characters instead of getting to the important part of the story.
I really wanted to enjoy the book and get lost into this amazing story that I know is there, but it is over descriptive and doesn't stay on track with the important things, I was happiest to uninstall this book and move onto my next.
I will say however, to the credit of the narrator he is actually very pleasant to listen to and does a good job.

Story
George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

If you love the message and simple story of fahrenheit 451 you will also love 1984. Such an amazing book with a strong and important message and the narration is absolutely perfect for this book.

Interesting enough, but no longer applies.

This was interesting to hear the concerns of war in the time period this was written, but almost none of this applies to today's military and is mostly obvious by todays standards in military knowlesge so don't expect to be any smarter after this.

Story
Father of cyberpunk William Gibson’s original script for Alien III, written in 1987 as a sequel to Aliens, never made it to our screens, although it went on to achieve cult status among fans as the third instalment that might have been after being leaked online. This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multi-award-winning Dirk Maggs - is the chance to experience William Gibson’s untold story and its terrifying, claustrophobic and dark encounters between humans and aliens, as a completely immersive audio experience.

The Spartacus War is the extraordinary story of the most famous slave rebellion in the ancient world, the fascinating true story behind a legend that has been the inspiration for novelists, filmmakers, and revolutionaries for 2,000 years. Starting with only 74 men, a gladiator named Spartacus incited a rebellion that threatened Rome itself.

This book had me hooked throughout. It does an amazing job of saying what facts we know for sure, what is plausible, and what is purely speculative.

Story
In the early 18th century, the Pirate Republic was home to some of the great pirate captains, including Blackbeard, "Black Sam" Bellamy, and Charles Vane. Along with their fellow pirates - former sailors, indentured servants, and runaway slaves - this "Flying Gang" established a crude but distinctive democracy in the Bahamas, carving out their own zone of freedom in which servants were free, Blacks could be equal citizens, and leaders were chosen or deposed by a vote.

Great history of pirates.
Reviewed: 07-28-18
This book goes, in order from before pirates being a major threat, all the way to the results of everybody after piracies end. The author makes it clear what information is unavailable, and makes it clear when things are speculated instead of just pretending everything was well documented fact, as a lot of information is, unsuprisingly, missing from that time.
It takes you step by step throughout the ghe years without jumping around. My only complaint is that sometimes he spends to much time telling you the names of people that are only mentioned once throughout the book, such as random governers that aren't important to what the book is saying.
