Story
Everywhere Katie Brenner looks, someone else is living the life she longs for, particularly her boss, Demeter Farlowe. Demeter is brilliant and creative, lives with her perfect family in a posh townhouse, and wears the coolest clothes. Katie’s life, meanwhile, is a daily struggle—from her dismal rental to her oddball flatmates to the tense office politics she’s trying to negotiate. No wonder Katie takes refuge in not-quite-true Instagram posts, especially as she's desperate to make her dad proud.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed, I cried, I laughed, I cried. This book stayed with me for awhile. I embraced the characters. I had to stop listening and just cry. The rollercoster ride was worth it. I was hooked from the begining. Be prepared to have a hard time putting this one down. Simply amazing book..

Story
Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life. When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted.

Had me until the end...
Reviewed: 07-02-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Good message while peeling back all the emotional layers.
Which scene was your favorite?
When the daughter went off on her parents and put all their demons on display. Had me rooting on the daughter for her bravery and strength and "keeping it real".
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The message was clear: it's not always greener on the other side. Nobody won in the book. The end seemed like it was not thought out all the way. Could have done more with the twist. Unanswered gaps as well. Overall, I enjoyed.

Wasn't Dissapointed
Reviewed: 07-02-13
What three words best describe Scott Brick’s voice?
Needs to design a better difference when changing characters. I would find myself lost and wondering what character we were on.
Do you think Split Second needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
YES! Want to read about the new "agency" and get the sexual tension out of the way. That or keep jumping into cold water..
Any additional comments?
Enjoyed the story line. Was not impressed with the villian motive. Suspense and drama was just enough.

Story
The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires.... From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I also saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside - so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat. No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.
