A solid collection of alien stories. Not sure if any jumped out above others, but I liked almost every story and there was plenty of variety. Good narration.

When I get a short story anthologies about genies I expect to get some diversity - which great. It would be weird if there wasn’t. But there were a couple of stories that felt preachy and political. It took away from those stories, because rather than being just great stories, they became a lecture on what’s wrong with the world.
Narrator has a nice voice and usually does different character’s well but there was one story where two main characters sounded the same and I didn’t know who was talking half the time.
That said, A-Z of horrors have been full of varied and interesting stories and I’ll read/listen to more, this one was slightly less good that others I’ve listened to ☺️

Some of the stories ended abruptly which perhaps ruined my enjoyment of them. However, the stories were quite good and varied. My favourite was Pholicidae, by Charles R. Bernard.
Narrator has a nice voice and did the different characters well in this anthology.

Very fun anthology. Stories are varied and interesting, some of them deliciously disgusting. I was actually surprised how different the stories were from each other. It wasn’t all savage tribes or serial killers.
Narrator has a nice voice (a few weird pauses, but nice to listen too).
I was going to list a couple of my favourite stories but there were too many.

Really fun anthology with some interesting stories. My favorite was definitely
The Pretty Girls by Tim O’Neal.
The Narrator’s voice sounded nice but he occasionally made some odd inflections and strange pauses and some characters had a weird (Irish?) accent for no apparent reason 😁. But other than that, he was easy to listen to. I’ll be reading/listening to more of the A-Z of Horror.

A few standout stories
Reviewed: 05-31-20
*Disclaimer - author provided copy for an honest review.
The first couple of stories weren’t very impressive, but they got better. Of course it’s not often you’ll love every story in an anthology or collection. It was a mixed bag of stories, some which I wouldn’t even consider as horror, but there were a handful of stories I really enjoyed. The standouts for me were ‘Opened Up’, an unexpectedly gory story about a what should have been a minor surgical procedure. And ‘21’, a nice take from the POV of the killer. ‘Trick or Treat’ was a fun story and I enjoyed ‘The Artists’. 3 1/3 stars

Long and Boring
Reviewed: 11-13-17
I purchased this book because I'd read a couple of Dean Koontz books and found them quick and easy, page-turning reads. This one however was long and boring and I couldn't get into it. There are too many protagonists, so I formed no attachment to any of them and don't care what happens.
The narrator struggles to voice so many different characters and a couple of them sound the same, but what really annoys me is how he voices the woman, it's just sounds weird.
I'm about 17 hours in (of a 29 1/2h book) and I'm really not sure I'll be able to finish.
I realize some books take a little while to get good, but 17 hours is too long to wait. If I'd have listened to this as soon as I'd purchased it, I'd have probably asked for a refund, but sadly I missed that boat.
Now I look at all the other books out there more worthy of my credit and sigh.

Tedious

Not sure how long he spoke about how to sort through mail or find a spot to keep your keys/handbag but it felt like hours. I'm sure some people do misplace these things, but the topic could have been sorted out in 2 minutes. This book was just so boring and tedious and not helpful at all.
Maybe it gets better after chapter 5 but I couldn't listen to anymore. Once he started talking about every single filing category he had, I was done. He has a file for client research, for personal research, for this, for that, from A-M, and from M-Z and so on. Don't even buy it on special. If you really want to declutter, try "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up". While it's a little kooky in places, at least it's entertaining and has helpful tips.

The book we've all (certainly every woman between 25 and 75) been waiting for. Classy, chic, convincing, funny, wise, well-written and very timely. It's the ultimate non-diet book, which nonetheless shows us how to eat with balance, control and above all pleasure. Chuck out all the radical diet books, think about what you eat and why, and then enjoy eating the right things (and some of the wrong ones) intelligently, and in smaller portions. Eat, like a French woman, with your head not your stomach.

Any additional comments?
While I didn't really expect any new information, I thought it would be at least interesting or motivating but it was neither. It was also frustrating to listen to the narrator recite phrases in French before or after she said it in English (we get it, you can speak French!). And I lost count if the amount of times the author plugged wine or champagne made by the company she works for. It just sounded like a hard sell. There were also a fair few recipes which doesn't work as an audio book. Disappointing.
