Better than the first book!

I enjoyed the continuing story of Vilmos, Seth, Adrina, and the others. This book is even better because it builds on the pace of the first, shows more to the characters and their hardships. As in the first book, there's a lot to like and the reader is amazingly good.

Stanek is fast becoming a favorite!

Firstly, I have to say that I disagree with some of the lower star rated reviews here. I found this book compelling from the get go. The characters are fantastic and there is plenty of excitement. I am someone who usually sticks to mystery and science fiction but having now read 4 Stanek novels he is quickly becoming a favorite.
