Amazing book that delves deep into the concept of eternal progression, while staying close to the scriptures, and simplifying concepts maximally. Amazing book!

I have read many business and self improvement books. Several stand out as extraordinary. The seven habits towers over all of them because it encompasses the principles contained in all of them. Instead of following a variety of steps toward success, you are instead encouraged to change your approaches from the inside out. Genius! A truly wonderful book.

Much of what is being sold, as parenting advice is either common sense, or a waste of ink. Not so with this book. Creative and useful ways of interacting in new and productive ways with your children will be introduced, and are being presented in such a practical way that you can implement them right away and for the long term. I have been very impressed with this book and have already learned a lot about how to become a better father.

I enjoyed this book immensely because of the wonderful device found in here.

I do think that the author seemingly wanted to overcome some of his cultural over bringing and that this agenda forms a red thread throughout his teaching.

Mr. Reedy for example find it very important to have boundaries without explaining those boundaries. This advice is repeated somewhat dogmatically throughout the book. I’m not certain that it’s the best way to go, but I am sure the discerning reader will make up their own mind about this.

Similarly, the author takes a strong stance against anything declared as right or wrong. Only the existence of individual “truth“ is regarded as the panacea. I personally don’t agree with that either.

Nonetheless, there are many extremely valuable points made in this book. I certainly believe it is a wonderful complementary tool to raising children with traditional values. So I guess one could say that I loved the book with all its beautiful wisdom along with its horrible, rotten parts including the somewhat monotonous narration.

Author diminishes the Holy Bible into a work of fiction

Despite the beautifully written, intellectually satisfying narration style I feel the that there is barely anything biblical that the author leaves standing as “real”. From Genesis all the way through the Torah and New Testament everything is diminished into somewhat inspired works of fiction written by mortals who frequently “misunderstood” God. At times these “errors” are given historic reasons, other times they are explained in the context of an “agenda” the “author” had. I’m left to wonder what is left “holy” about the scriptures once Peter Enns is finished taking his machete to the Bible all while maintaining he is a believing Christian. Even the role Christ plays in fulfilling the law is framed as the apostles’ desire to “reinterpret” the Torah in ways it was not meant to be read.

All in all an interesting perspective with several historical errors such as king Cyrus the Great of Persia being portrayed as an “enemy of Israel”, when he both freed the Jews from Babylonian captivity, rebuilt the Temple in Jerusalem, and is mentioned as a humanitarian hero in the Hebrew bible.

I absolutely loved this book. So much that I’m learning about the beautiful interplay of the male and female in this world has taken on a new shape after listening to this, I am truly grateful for the gift the author has given his readers. Everyone in any relationship, after., or before a relationship should read this book. Beautifully simple yet brilliantly, this author describes a path to true bliss and a joyful life.

Horrible Mix of Pseudoscience and Ancient Wisdom

As an open minded scientist I am frankly disgusted with this book. The author uses complete falsehoods to "measure" levels of consciousness including applied kinesiology (AK). AK has been debunked in many studies and rests on the belief that a persons muscles get stronger in the presence of "truth/wisdom/positivity" as opposed to the opposite. I find this eerily similar to medieval "evidence" gathered during the inquisition. Come on - this is 2017! While attempting to brainwash his audience with much well-articulated pseudoscience from the beginning (all poorly conducted, non peer-reviewed studies at obscure "institutions" and nonsensical talk about "quantum physics") Hawkins goes on to base the entire book on this shaky foundation acting as though he knows, "as the person went weak or they went strong". It is one thing to publish a spiritual book and to include ones own opinions. It is another to claim they are "the truth" and act as though science supports these beliefs. Many statements in the book are contradictory as the astute reader will find, such as the stated ability to self heal followed by statements regarding the higher importance of the evolved self that doesn't care about the genetic limits the body places on itself. Frequent unscientific comments about the importance of the thymus gland and other medieval pseudo-physiology made me cringe. The author describes himself as "enlightened", which I find interesting as he doesn't appear to realize that his narration is very difficult to understand and IMHO extremely boring. Apparently his ego did not allow for him to get a professional to narrate this book and that at its price of $30 for an audiobook. Save the money and buy a book by Eckhardt Tolle.
