Jaw dropping revelations

I was blown away but the incredible prophetic revelations in this book. The way everything foreshadows, ties into, points to the Savior, our life in Him, and our purpose/destiny in Him, with Him, through Him, by Him, and for Him is so profound. I need to re-read this book again and again. The narrator did an outstanding job as well. You cannot read this and not be blessed.

Annoying Narration
Reviewed: 07-18-23
While I usually love any book by Francine Rivers, this one missed the mark for me. The artistic license was stretched a bit too far from Biblical fact at times, but, it was the narrator that ruined any redeeming qualities for this collection of stories. Her over-annunciation, weird pauses, and chronic mispronunciations made this book difficult to finish.
Not enjoying this one.

Story
Nestled into the cliffs in southern Italy's Amalfi coast, Positano is an artist's vision, with rows of brightly hued houses perched above the sea and picturesque staircases meandering up and down the hillside. Santina, still a striking woman despite old age and the illness that saps her last strength, is spending her final days at her home, Villa San Vito. The magnificent 18th-century palazzo is very different from the tiny house in which she grew up. And as she decides its fate, she must confront the choices that led her here so long ago.

Phenomenal writing and equally phenomenal narration! I can’t say I’ve listened to many books personally read by the author but I couldn’t imagine this one read by any other.
I was captivated by the story immediately, drawn up into the very lives of the characters which were developed quite well. I wish there had been slightly more joy than drama in their lives. However, the story has depth and takes the reader on an emotional journey that, in the end, comes full circle. A must read for sure!
I will definitely seek out more books by this author.

I LOVE Susanna Kearsley but this was not up to her normal standards. I think the narrator ruined it. She was awful. Perhaps with someone else, it would’ve been more tolerable to listen to and I could’ve enjoyed the storyline more. Add it was, I just gritted my teeth and finished as soon as I could.

A real struggle for me
Reviewed: 06-28-20
I love this series but this particular book was a real struggle for me. The only thing that kept me going was my investment to the series storyline. There was far too much hard core swearing for my taste and found it completely unnecessary.Penny/Billie and Rick had absolutely no chemistry at all!!! The first half of the book irritated me with her chronic “i’m broken” stance. The second half made me want to puke if I had to hear about his “dick” one more time and gee she was suddenly cured!! Really?!
The male narrator was awful! I hated his portrayal of both Rick and Elliott. What the heck was with the sh sound for s? Plus Elliott sounded a thousand years old for Pete’s sake. I rarely complain about narrator actually but in this case, I really wish they could’ve had someone else! The overall storyline about the brooch and historical time period was interesting but that’s all it had going for it.
Definitely not one of my favorites!

Ever wondered why some people are just "Bad"? In this book - Bad Girls of the Bible - you will discover some well-known characters like Jezebel and other obscure ones like Athaliah that can teach you life lessons for the 21st Century. This book will educate and inspire at the same time! Plus Bad Boys of the Bible. This is the sequel to Bad Boys and Girls Of The Bible. I assure you that you are about to face some of the most horrific scenes in the Holy Book - The Bible.

Reviewed: 05-08-20
This book had potential. While no person mentioned in the Bible is insignificant, I do love to learn about lesser or more overlooked people hidden throughout the pages. However, I found the writing style to be extremely boring! This writer did not effectively bring these people to life or improve our knowledge or understanding of them. If that wasn't bad enough, the narrator was probably the worst narrator I have ever heard in my life! Her narration was terribly choppy with weird inflections and pauses. What little interest I was able to find was ruined by narrator.

Was a little slow to get the storyline going but when it did, I was completely swept up in it. For anyone who loved “The. Bronze Horseman” by Paullina Simons, you will probably love this story too. Nice twist at the end and a wonderful full circle conclusion made this book truly one of my favorites.
