Story
Most people know Dave Ramsey as the guy who did stupid with a lot of zeros on the end. He made his first million in his twenties—the wrong way—and then went bankrupt. That’s when he set out to learn what God had to say about managing money and building wealth. As a result, Dave developed the Ramsey Baby Steps and became a millionaire again—this time the right way. After three decades of guiding millions of others through the plan, the evidence is undeniable: the Baby Steps not only work for everyone, but they’re proven to work fast.

Story
In Free to Learn, developmental psychologist Peter Gray argues that our children, if free to pursue their own interests through play, will not only learn all they need to know but will do so with energy and passion. Children come into this world burning to learn, equipped with the curiosity, playfulness, and sociability to direct their own education. Yet we have squelched such instincts in a school model originally developed to indoctrinate, not to promote intellectual growth.

i wrote this on my Facebook page tonight: I cried when "Free to Learn" by Peter Grey ended tonight on my audible. Actual tears.
I have been listening to this book for about an hour a day for the 2 or 3 weeks. On my way to the gym every morning or even in the shower for 15 minutes.
I have read 100s of books. Seriously hundreds. I have always been an avid reader.
Nothing has made me look at my life and the life of my children so differently.
The history and psychology presented in this book are profound.
My only advice is don't read it if you don't want to dramatically change the way you look at your children and how you educate them.
I want to thank the author for putting together something so incredibly special and eye-opening. I wish I could freaking hug him. That would be weird though.
I want to also thank Kim Constable for being the first person to present ideas radical unschooling to me, and introducing Dayna White, another amazing author into my life.
Vanessa Baker for making the recommendation and validating that this view on life, freedom, happiness is totally in alignment with who I am at my core.
If you have children - Go pick up this book. Get it on Audible.
You are welcome.

Story
Radical Unschooling is a progressive parenting philosophy, which includes children learning at home. It is different from homeschooling in that children are not forced to follow curriculum lessons and tests. Radical Unschooling philosophy focuses on trust of a child's innate ability to learn without coercion and invites children to explore their passions. The parent's role is to facilitate their interests and curiosity. Radical Unschooling - the book - focuses also on the evolutionary aspect of parenting and human consciousness....

I love what I have learned from this book. Even if you do not plan to unschool. The principals of being kind and respectful in your home are priceless.
