I thought the characters were well developed, but I knew early in the narrative who the culprit was because they were the only one under developed and not investigated, although being at the center of the plot.

Stellar performance, brilliant conceptualization of a moment in history. The listener is present in the unfolding of a tragic and inevitable conclusion.

Predictable. I figured out who did it way before the end through deductive reasoning.

Joy Ellis always delivers. This story kept on the edge of my seat. Great narration as well.

How is it that a story that takes place in Sweden, written by a British author, ends up being narrated by someone who sounds like a "valley girl"? Her nasal narration and her mispronunciation of English slang just grated. The only thing that kept me going was the story itself.

The story would have come more alive had it not been for the monotonous narration. It just seemed colorless. I'm not sure I will continue with the Matthew Venn mystery series.
