I read the description and had high hopes for the story. but everything just seemed to happen so quickly. the biggest issue of the book was resolved in about 2 minutes. and then narration didn't help. definitely not one worth reading/listening to twice

Disappointed 😞
Reviewed: 03-23-21
I loved the Nashville assassin series and I was looking forward to this one as well. unfortunately this story missed the mark for me. I feel like the characters hardly had a backstory. everything happened so quickly in the story and I felt like all I was reading was the hanky panky. For example (without spoilers), there was build up for an event like the puppy photo shoot and then we heard nothing about it when it happened. it seems like the couple had hardly any adversities to overcome. it was sad that they had problems, but it wasn't really shown to me. overall I'm just disappointed in story.
the narrators, however, were amazing. I loved listening to the country accent by Tayna Eby. she's an amazing narrator.

First Susan Mallery book I don't like :-(
Reviewed: 10-30-20
I don't think there has ever been a Susan Mallery book that I haven't enjoyed and I've read (listened to) probably at least 90% of them. I just could not like these characters. In the previous books from this series, I've disliked characters but then grow to love them by the end of the book. I can't stand how they handled Amber. I feel like the characters disappointed me and didn't learn anything. Tanya Eby was fabulous as always, but I just can't get past the plot.

I've heard so much about this book for years now and I finally decided to give it a chance. The writing was poor and the narration isn't too great either (especially the make voices). Overall I'm really disappointed considering how popular this series has been. Maybe it would have been better if it hasn't been built up so much.

I loved the story and the characters. The character development was great and the plot was different than my usual romance books. But I felt the story just kept going and going. I kept thinking it was almost over, then I'd look at how much time was left and I was like "dang this is drawn out."

A teenager could have written a better book
Reviewed: 04-29-18
The writing felt so amateur. The plot felt so shallow and the repetitive. The same lines/conversations were repeated throughout the book.
To make it worse, this narrator was awful. Her voices would change for a character in the middle of a sentence. The main female character sounded like a child. It was awful.
Luckily I didn't waste my money on this book because it was included in the romance package I pay for. If I did spend money on this, I'd demand a refund. I'll be staying away from this author and narrator from now on.
