I wasn’t so sure at first but as I got further in it interested me. The story is beautiful! I also thought the narrator fit the book perfectly! She was a great pick for the book, excellent work, and very talented.

Story
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

I didn’t know what to expect with this one. I got the recommendation from a Facebook fiction book group, but I was attracted to the cover and the title. The story was wonderful, living in Seattle myself, the descriptions and paintings of the weather the sky and the ocean were beautiful and so true!
As an audio narrator, I was so impressed with all the characters and the way Marcellus’s voice fit my vision of him so well. The narration brought vivid pictures in my head and made me want to hear JUST one more chapter! It’s over and I already miss these characters, this town, this aquarium and that octopus! Love love loved it! Grand job narrators!

I want to live inside Travis Inman’s imagination!

This was a phenomenal book! I was captivated and drawn in by the story, and the story teller, from the first page! It’s one of those books that you are happy to be sitting in traffic with! I would sit in my car long after I arrived home, listening to this thrilling book!
One of the most compelling, raw and unexpected part of this book was the first person view of what it actually feels like to have ADHD. As a parent of a child with ADHD I found it fascinating to hear what it feels like and what goes through a person’s brain as they are dealing with ADHD! It is such a unique perspective. In all the books I’ve read dealing with ADHD I’ve never heard about what it really feels like to deal with it.
The narration was easy to listen to, with really wonderful heart felt emotion. While I expected a male voice for this “type of book”, Christy Lou completely shattered my stereotyping, and nailed both female and male characters! Wonderful work!
This is not only a fantastic and imaginative journey of a book, it is also a strong form of advocacy for anyone dealing with ADHD personally, loves or teaches someone with ADHD!
Thank you Travis Inman for not just shinning a light into a fantastic new world, but for also shinning a light on ADHD and how it effects the lives it touches.

What beautiful story! This is the type of book you want to lay in the summer sun and enjoy! I loved how the author wove a clear and crisp picture of every character and every scene! This is a Hallmark movie in the making, I see it perfectly and clearly in the author’s descriptions.
The smooth, peaceful, and even tone of the narrator matched this story perfectly! The accents and slight changes in vocal color, give each character such a distinct voice, both in who they are as individual people, and how they feel emotionally. What a superb performance of a beautiful story! I’m so glad this is the first of a few books, because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the Morales family!
