I really wanted to love this documentary but I was not able to follow along. My brain tuned out after only a few minutes. Too bad. The story sounds fascinating but it just does not capture the imagination in this form

Story
What were the forces that led to one of history's most protracted and legendary periods of conflict? How did they affect the three great civilizations that participated in them? And, ultimately, why did they end and what did they accomplish? In these 36 lectures, you'll look at the "big picture" of the Crusades as an ongoing period of conflict involving Western Christendom (we would now call it Western Europe), the Byzantine Empire, and the Muslim world.

Story
Polly, Annie, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Mary-Jane are famous for the same thing, though they never met. What they had in common was the year of their murders: 1888. The person responsible was never identified, but the character created by the press to fill that gap has become far more famous than any of these five women. For more than a century, newspapers have been keen to tell us that "the Ripper" preyed on prostitutes. Not only is this untrue, as historian Hallie Rubenhold has discovered, but it has prevented the real stories of these fascinating women from being told.

Story
Philippa Langley reveals the findings of a remarkable new research initiative: ‘The Missing Princes Project'. In the summer of 1483, Edward V (aged 12) and his brother Richard Duke of York (aged 9), disappeared from the Tower of London. For over 500 years, history has judged that they were murdered on the orders of their uncle Richard III. Following years of intensive research in UK, American and European archives, astonishing new archival discoveries have been uncovered that change what we know about the fate of the Princes in the Tower.

Ugh. Reading of data put me straight to sleep

I REALLY wanted to love this book. I have been fascinated by the mystery of the princes in the tower for years. I was so excited to see this book and very interested to learn the theories proposed but I am not able to listen for more than 5 minutes without my brain going numb. The reader is very monotonous and reads the facts in a perfectly flat soft spoken tone without any inflection. It instantly puts me to sleep. I honestly can’t even tell you if the story is any good or not because I cannot stay engaged long enough to understand what is proposed. As much as I would love to consider the details, this is the first book that I simply cannot finish.
