Story
Every family has its secrets. Josephina “Joey” Harris wouldn’t mind if her family still had a few of their own after a lawsuit tarnishes their name. When an opportunity opens to become a temporary keeper of a decommissioned lighthouse on a North Carolina island, she takes the opportunity to escape the scrutiny of her small town to oversee its restoration.

The cadence of the story was like life at the ocean.

The narrator read the story in such a rhythmic way that you could but the back drop of the sea and really be there, smell the air, the food, taste the pie, and feel the sand.
In moments of tension or confusion, the sea was stormy and even deadly. I love audible and when I recognized this cadence in the writing and the narrator’s voice I put on a background of ocean sounds just for fun and it really made the experience wonderful.
