Rudy Simone guides you through every aspect of both personal and professional life, from early recollections of blame, guilt and savant skills to friendships, romance and marriage. Generally helpful, but a lot of generalizations
Reviewed: 07-30-24
I did find parts helpful but I also found a lot of generalizations. It almost felt like Simone was using her personal experience and applying it to all aspies. For example, the entire chapter on aspie women not being feminine I didn’t relate to. There’s also an entire chapter on a supplement which has zero science to back it up. It seems Simone personally liked the supplement and may have been compensated for it but is then marketing it as a cure all for AS.

This book helped me immensely on my healing journey. I can’t recommend enough. Explains how unconscious patterns get passed on and how to break out of them.

Narration made this hard to get through.

The story was unique and interesting. However the reading is VERY monotone. So much so that it is impossible to tell if anyone in the book has good intentions. The way it is read makes every single character seem stiff and uncaring. I think I would have enjoyed the book if I read it my self. But it took far longer to get through than it should have.
