Story
For over 20 years, Belasco House has stood empty. Regarded as the Mt. Everest of haunted houses, its shadowed walls have witnessed scenes of unimaginable horror and depravity. All previous attempts to probe its mysteries have ended in murder, suicide, or insanity.
But now, a new investigation has been launched, bringing four strangers to Belasco House in search of the ultimate secrets of life and death. A wealthy publisher, brooding over his impending death, has paid a physicist and two mediums to establish the facts of life after death once and for all. For one night, they will investigate the Belasco House and learn exactly why the townsfolk refer to it as the Hell House.

nothing you haven't already known about, doesn't offer much in novelty but it works if you like haunted house stories.

Story
After years of city life, Orla and Shaw Bennett are ready for the quiet of New York's Adirondack mountains — or at least, they think they are. Settling into the perfect farmhouse with their two children, they are both charmed and unsettled by the expanse of their land, the privacy of their individual bedrooms, and the isolation of life a mile from any neighbor.

I wouldn't consider this horror. not much happens, but it is imaginative. needed more intrigue and malevolence to be considered scary. narrator did well with the exception of the most annoying 4 yr old voice ever

Story
When Mouse’s dad asks her to clean out her dead grandmother's house, she says yes. After all, how bad could it be? Answer: pretty bad. Grandma was a hoarder, and her house is stuffed with useless rubbish. That would be horrific enough, but there’s more - Mouse stumbles across her step-grandfather’s journal, which at first seems to be filled with nonsensical rants...until Mouse encounters some of the terrifying things he described for herself.

Thoughtful build to a chilling, exhilarating finale. Also, the dog lives.

good info, wandering towards the end

the end of the book wonders away from the subject into how we can do better at schooling people and kids on theology and science. good info but not germaine to why I got the book. I would have rather that effort be put into more documentation and examples to support arguments against non material points of view. good book. made me think.
