Story
With a sharp tongue and an unruly temper, Sage Fowler is not what they'd call a lady, which is perfectly fine with her. Deemed unfit for marriage, Sage is apprenticed to a matchmaker and tasked with wrangling other young ladies to be married off for political alliances. She spies on the girls - and on the soldiers escorting them. As the girls' military escort senses a political uprising, Sage is recruited by a handsome soldier to infiltrate the enemy ranks.

Such a great book

I literally just finished this book and I'm diving on the second one because oh my goodness I love these characters and this world. (Vague spoiler beyond this point, but I won't name names) As a mom, something that happened in the later half of the book was super difficult to get through, but all in all I think it was worth it. The ending was very heartwarming and had me in happy tears. Definitely recommend this book!

Story
When my father wanders into the enchanted realm of the fae, I know I have to go after him. And when he gets imprisoned, I'll do anything to save him, even trade my freedom for his. I had no idea I'd end up imprisoned by four sexy fae who turn into beasts at night.

So good

I came across this book recommendation on the author's Tik Tok and went in blind, without reading the description or reviews. I'm sort of glad I did because I didn't realize it was a retelling and it was so fun to be like "...Wait but... wait. That's familiar." for the first few chapters before I was sure it was a retelling. Haha. My only regret is listening to this before the second book is out because I am itching to keep reading! I highly recommend picking up this book, it's spicy and fun, and the author did an amazing job painting a picture of the FMC that was decidedly not your typical default. She is curvy and witty and I love her. Though she can be a bit whiny, who isn't?
