Not the characteristic fun of SmartLess this time. I usually enjoy Kevin Hart, but this episode seemed overly rude and almost hostile.

OK but underdeveloped

I chose this because I enjoy Rosamund Pike. She's wonderful as always. The story is ok but seems underdeveloped. Since this is a prequel, the world-building may rely on the other books in the series which I had not yet read.

Story
When Mackenzie wakes up with a severed crow's head in her hands, she panics. Only moments earlier she had been fending off masses of birds in a snow-covered forest. In bed, when she blinks, the head disappears. Night after night, Mackenzie’s dreams return her to a memory from before her sister Sabrina’s untimely death: a weekend at the family’s lakefront campsite, long obscured by a fog of guilt.

This book took a few chapters to get me hooked, but then kept a steady pace as the plot developed.

Story
Narrator Dan Stevens ( Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.
