Disappointed
Reviewed: 01-18-20
After listening to the first book, I couldn’t wait to listen to this one. The narrator did an excellent job. The story itself is where I am disappointed. It’s not all bad. There are some really parts and at times I felt very connected to the main characters. Not as funny as the first book. There is quite a bit of angst in this book, especially toward the end. The first book I never experienced the frustration of wanting to slap characters and tell them they are idiots. There is one sex scene in this book and it wasn’t the best either. I was hoping for more steaminess. I will give her third book a listen whenever it becomes available. Hopefully it’ll be more like her first book and not this one.

Why, he’ll never even know she is there. Until he shows up in London too, and Cassandra finds herself sharing a house with the most infuriating man in England. Joshua DeWitt has his life exactly how he wants it. He has no need of a wife disrupting everything.

This book was wonderful. It was witty and had several funny moments. I loved both characters and found I was able to relate to both of them. I liked it so much, I looked up the author and discovered this is her first book!!! So well written. I just picked up the second book in the series and hope it’s as funny and good as this one. I will be looking out for more books from this author. The narration was great as well. I highly recommend the book.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the first half was better than the latter. I liked that there was a lot of steam and no angst! She was a strong character but not so headstrong that I wanted to hate her like a lot of other females in other books. The ending was a little abrupt for me. Worth the credit. Narration was great as well.

Can’t do it...
Reviewed: 10-10-19
I was already annoyed in the prologue but listened for about 3 hours. It took a lot to listen to that much then decided no book is worth the torture. I’m sending it back. The narrator is slow and sometimes doesn’t tie a sentence together. The male voices are far from masculine and sexy. The characters were written poorly. Everyone knows they long for each other including her fiancée everyone except her brother. Both characters want to be tortured for several years just to make her brother “happy”?!?? If you want a book full of angst and every other minute calling one of them stupid then this book is for you. I just couldn’t handle it.

I love Tessa dare and Mary Jane Wells together but this book was absolutely perfect. There was no angst, no one trying hard to deny their feelings to the point of being annoying, everything was just wonderful and flowed so great. It was also very funny! If there had to be something I had to change about the book, I’d probably make it more steamy. There’s a few intimate scenes but none that really left me breathless which I’m completely fine with. Buy the book, you won’t regret it. Can’t wait for the next book!!!

From the very beginning of the series, it set the scene for her and her Major and in the previous book, covered his death. I felt sad for her and loved how Adam helped her move forward. I love how much he loved her always. I wish she would’ve returned his love sooner or whole heartedly. This was better than book 3 in my opinion but still think book 1 was best. I’m currently on book 5. As always, wish they would’ve had a better narrator.

I felt like she was going overboard with her attempts at getting out of the marriage. It would’ve been nice to see her use that energy and effort into making him love her. Book 1 was best and book 2 was better than this. Good but not wonderful.

Good but not as great as book 1
Reviewed: 05-10-19
There were parts of the book I truly loved and other parts I felt angst. At times I felt these two needed to communicate and stop being so insecure. It was a good book but book 1 was much better. I’m currently on the 3rd in the series and intend to listen to the whole family because they really are great books. I wish they would’ve used a different narrator since the male voice isn’t as masculine as I’d like.
