Story
Author Lisa Bilyeu grew up in London, where she was always told her dreams of Hollywood were a little too big for a girl. Despite her first love of movie-making, Lisa moved to Los Angeles and became a housewife—for eight frickin’ years! How the heck did that happen? Radical Confidence is the “empowering, transformative, and practical” (Jay Shetty, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Think Like A Monk) story of how Lisa unpaused her life to cofound a company that went from zero to a billion dollars in just five years and became the leader in the world of personal development.

Marketed as self help book, but it’s mostly her life story blabber
Reviewed: 11-10-23
Don’t get me wrong I love Lisa! She is an amazing entrepreneur and marvelous speaker. The reason I purchased this book, after watching so many videos. However, very quickly it just became her life story, in details, who messaged whom, what they ate, what car he drove etc. This isn’t what I paid one credit ($15) for! The paper book, at least you can go through and return if it’s not what you expected. Here, you can only listen to a sample. And sample was very inspirational! Unlike the book. I don’t know how much longer I want to listen to “Adventures of me when I was 21” book. I wish I read all the reviews before purchasing it.

Story
What if you could stop eating, stop working at a bad job, stop a bad relationship - stop anything when you have had enough? Understanding WHY you eat can lead to real and lasting change - both in weight loss and all other areas of life. In You Are Why You Eat food becomes a digestible metaphor. Most of us are unable to walk away - from a plate of food or a bad situation. But instead of staying and trying to please others all the time, what would happen if you listened to your inner voice?

The voice is too robotic for me
Reviewed: 07-10-23
I’m sure Ms Jacobs is a great person but I couldn’t comprehend any information because of the way it was narrated. It’s very “customer service robotic system” like. Too flat and too “right”. There is a very narrow amplitude of the voice, I wish Dr.Ramani narrated herself. I have to drop it bc I made it to the half of it, with great difficulty, and can’t even describe what’s it about, fully.
I don’t agree though, with the notion of ordering half the portion at the restaurant (paying full price? I’d rather ask to split it and pack the other half to go, and eat it tomorrow). Or, THROWING IT AWAY??? What a waste. I’m not going to do that. I’m not saying I’d rather eat it than throw it away (like, being human garbage can), I’m saying you can eat it tomorrow.

Story
A year and a half into our marriage, I found out my husband had been having an affair with a 19-year-old for six months. I filed for divorce and left. Two weeks later I met a man, and we fell madly in love. It was a fairy-tale romance for a month and a half, and he convinced me to join him on a romantic month-long vacation in Italy. Forty-eight hours before we were supposed to get on a plane, he told me he needed to go by himself. I was devastated. So, I had a decision to make. Either stay home and be heartbroken, or go travel Europe for a month by myself.

Like High school drama (((

The author piggy backed on Elizabeth Gilbert’s book probably hoping that’s halfway to success? Also, being “famous” LA actress, casually throwing Peter Jackson and Michael J.Fox thinking it’ll lure the readers in without much effort?
I really empathized with author when she described her divorce (even though there were too many details for my taste, kind of like raw unedited diary), but then this rumble started with copy-pasted text messages, especially this being an audiobook, it’s incredibly annoying listening to names who says what. How did she think it’s going to benefit the book? It’s just page fillers.
I barely survived couple hours, just can’t anymore, my brain is offended.
After reading Brene Brown, Gabbie Bernstein, Dr.Ramani this feels like empty candy wrapper. No more.
