Story
Six brand-new full-cast audio adventures for The Treacle People! Welcome to Sabden, home of the mines that produce fully half of Britain’s treacle–the sticky stuff that goes into golden syrup, ginger beer and parkin cake. In this picturesque spot, where moobarks roam the fields and mischievous boggarts scamper around every corner, a proud industry flourishes–or rather, used to flourish. Because once again, the mines have run out of treacle, and the villagers find themselves in a decidedly sticky situation… But hope is at hand!

Fun story. Episodes are short, but fun. Loved the topology joke in first episode. Even knowing what is coming did not diminish the fun.
I am not good at leaving reviews. It is fun, short and it made me laugh. What more could I ask for?

Story
During his journeys around Japan, Smith recorded ancient Japanese myths and legends in his personal diaries. The result is a fascinating collection of historical legends from all over Japan, with themes including ghosts, unrequited love, Shinto landscape, tree and ocean spirits, samurai culture and tales driven by Bushido and Buddhist ethics. Gordon Smith's writing combines a realist style with supernatural elements, resulting in an anthology of 'magic realist' tales which will bewitch and captivate listeners.

A new world to explore.

I have to admit. I grew up in Europe, so exploring these stories from Japan is a treat. There is so much similarity , but also so many differences in culture. It helps that all these stories are all new to me.
I am having a blast.

For the past thousand years, the dragon Vakandi has watched the people of Vakfored grow from a wandering band of refugees to a glorious city of art and magic. Under his protection, the city has survived monsters, floods, and wars all without building an army, dam, or even a wall. But time changes everything and now the citizens of his beloved city want him dead.

A unique tale about the struggles of a dragon who chose to be a protector instead of a beast.

I really enjoyed this story. A bit surprised by that actually. The story is not entirely surprising, but that is not the point. It is engaging and the voice acting sells it. Will definitely listen again and perhaps get my kids to listen in as well.

Story
As a sci-fi author with a hit TV show, I have a few ideas about what alien invaders are supposed to look like. In my stories, they’re technologically advanced monsters, with tentacles, and no faces. Turns out I was right about the technology. And about how angry they’d be. But the way they look…that’s more terrifying than even I could have imagined. They look exactly like us. Because they are us.

I just finished book 1 of the set. As I continue with the series I wanted to drop a quick review.
This is a fun read and a fun story. There is enough interesting pieces to keep me interested. The protagonist is not a thrice decorated hero without any flaws. The aliens allies are not all powerful and may be divided. Heroes do not go through ordeals unscathed.
Looking forward to the other two books in this set.

The Enigma cipher was supposed to be the German's impenetrable defence for its military communications against prying eyes during World War II. All manner of secrets were entrusted to it. When the Allies finally managed to crack the code, it heralded a turning point in the war.

I enjoy to read / learn about WWII. There definitely was a lot of context and historical drama related to the enigma machine. I had no idea how much, really. Overall, the story begins before the war with the Polish work and continues all the way through the war. Interesting how breaking the enigma may have jump started the development of computers.
Now I need to find a book about early cryptography.

Solid title with good information

I am happy with the narration and the information. It reads a bit like a research or college paper as the information is a bit dry, so this may not be what you are looking for.
If you just want the information on how to improve your, or someone else's, happiness, there is likely some things you can follow up on. That and it is a short read.
Overall, a solid choice if you want the information, not to be entertained.
