Story
"From the devastating surprise attack on Pearl Harbor to America’s first bold counterstrike against the Japanese on the beaches of Guadalcanal, this compelling story takes you to the front lines of victory and defeat - and into the very heart of courage, loyalty, and valor. It is a heroic story of pride and passion you will never forget.... Griffin’s books are distinguished by their high action and suspense, his dashing irreverence toward high command, and his clear picture of war and its wartime leaders.” (The Florida Times-Union)

Fantastic Book

Excellent story! Reminds me of my own time in the Corps. From the detestable actions of certain characters that reminds me of certain individuals whom I had the displeasure of dealing with while I served, to the heroic and selfless actions of officers to the privates the brought men and women I served with to mind, this chapter of the Corps saga masterfully captured life in the service, especially during war time, to life.
Semper Fi!

This series does an amazing job of bringing some of my heroes to life, while entangling the reader in the lives of the book's fictional characters. Any fan of Historical Fiction will thoroughly enjoy the entire series, and all of W.E.B. Griffin's other series as well. It took this old Marine far too many years to find these stories, but I am so thankful to Mr. Griffin that I finally did read them.

Epic Sequel!!!

Fantastic continuation of one of the best, and most nostalgic, literary journeys ever! You think you see the plot, and WHAM! Ernest Cline once again captured the 1980's kid I grew up being, and gave him life again via Cline's immersive use of imagery and culture.
