Story
Sarah Bessey is an expert at faithfully stumbling forward. As a New York Times bestselling author and co-founder of Evolving Faith, the foremost community for progressive Christians, she has been trusted by thousands of people to pursue a reconstruction of faith centered on compassion, truth, and inclusion. Bessey has found a deeply underserved and underestimated remnant in the wilderness of Christianity who are still devoted to Jesus, deeply rooted in the Gospel, fascinated with Scripture, and committed to reimagining their faith.

Such need words for the place many of us find ourselves. I feel more anchored in the love of God. I will sit with this book for a long time and reference it no doubt.

Story
What is a monastery? A monastery is a place set apart - a place to learn the blessings of powerlessness, and that time is not ours but God’s. Our home and our duties can, just like a monastery, teach us those things. The vocation of monastic men and women is to physically withdraw from the world. But the principle is equally valid for those of us who cannot go off to monasteries. Certain vocations offer the same kind of opportunity for contemplation, and provide a desert for reflection.

This book is absolutely helpful as it both truth tells the flags unhealthy church culture but also remains adamant in the Churches redemptive power. It is a must ready for every pastor.

Nourishment for the Leader
Reviewed: 07-04-21
This podcast is nourishing for the leader’s heart which interestingly enough some times gets put aside when caring for others constantly. Pull up a chair and eat and drink. You are invited.
