Story
You have an enemy...and he's dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What's more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn't general or generic, not a one-size-fits-all. It's specific. Personalized. Targeted. So this audiobook is your chance to strike back. With prayer. With a weapon that really works.

I listened to this audiobook years ago. Came back to it again during a career transition and it was absolutely what I needed and I regret not coming back to this book annually. This book is great at anytime but really provides a level of grounding when you feel off kilter. I thank God that Priscilla was obedient to be used in such a mighty way!

Story
Claudia Rankine's bold new audiobook recounts mounting racial aggressions in ongoing encounters in 21st-century daily life and in the media. Some of these encounters are slights, seeming slips of the tongue, and some are intentional offensives in the classroom, at the supermarket, at home, on the tennis court with Serena Williams and the soccer field with Zinedine Zidane, online, on TV - everywhere, all the time. The accumulative stresses come to bear on a person's ability to speak, perform, and stay alive.

“It wasn’t a match, it was a lesson.”

Wow! Rankine’s writing style is perfect for this book. It’s like a stream of consciousness of the Black “professional’s” experience in America. A constant bombardment of racial slights and overt racism that leaves you exhausted, confused and ultimately emotionless.
I can’t say enough about this book other than buy it!
