Story
In Jane Austen's classic Pride & Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet never expects to see Mr. Darcy again after his disastrous proposal in Hunsford. But what if family business required him to stay at Rosings after giving her his letter? Coming face to face with Mr. Darcy only days later could give Elizabeth a new chance to understand him... or chance for even more misunderstandings.

Just enough angst
Reviewed: 10-26-24
This story is just right. I enjoy a bit of angst but don’t want it to drag on. Sometimes I stop reading if it is too uncomfortable. This book has several episodes of angst but they resolve pleasantly before I fatigue of them. The characters are recognizable and deep enough to feel real. An enjoyable variation.

An exciting story with loads of action and romance
Reviewed: 10-22-24
Despite the flaws in the AI narration, this was an enjoyable listen. The story elements were interesting, engaging, and new without sacrificing character. I recognized our dear couple in this new imagining of the story.
I did feel that the wrap up and happy ending was, possibly, a bit over the top. How nice to see EVERYONE so rich! But we all like our families to be happy.
Regarding the narration, care needs to be taken to review these recordings to edit out the voicing of typos and symbols such as ‘tilda’ from being spoken.
Over all, I recommend the book. I enjoyed it.

The plot is very “P and P” but it is fast paced and the dialogue is fresh. The characters seem three dimensional and feel real. There is plenty of Lizzy and Darcy banter to please us romantics. One of the better reads.

Where’ the plot?
Reviewed: 10-20-22
This is the second book in a series. I won’t be reading the third. There is just no story. It’s all Darcy and Lizzy telling each other how much they love them. Lots of making love but not steamy. No angst. No tension. It was all fluff and no substance. Good writing but find a plot, please.

Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

I have read over 50 Pride and Prejudice companion novels. This has been one of my favorites. It is thoughtful and complete. I believed the character choices and the story was touching, humorous, and not predictable. I especially enjoyed the author’s choice for the ending. Thank you Ms. Adams.

While I love the topic, flow, banter and writing style, the narration was not the best. His was better than hers. It is distracting when words are mis-pronounced.

I just finished reading 2nd Gen and I need more now! This book was compelling, poignant, fun, and thought provoking. It deals with tough subjects in a bite sized way that allowed me to think thru them as the characters resolved their own feelings. The relationships ring true to me and I believed in their choices. I want to read whatever comes next. And there must be a next. The Vaughn’s need to hurry up and get us the sequel.

There's only one gentleman to turn to when a lady is in desperate need of answers... With scandal descending on the Bennet family (again!), Elizabeth absolutely refuses to drag Mr. Darcy's name into this shocking situation. But how on earth is she going to get her family out of trouble this time without his involvement? Hiding things from Mr. Darcy is getting more and more impossible, especially since he's started letting his feelings show.
