This story gripped me almost immediately and held on until the end.
I did not care for the main narrator though and if the story hadn’t been so intriguing right from the start I’m not sure if I could have made it all the way through. As a few others have stated, his delivery is deadpan and almost emotionless. I found it quite irritating because it would often take me out of the story.

Kept listening till the end, but was happy when the end came. The voice acting was decent; I enjoyed Ms Peterson's performance more than Ms Parker and Mr Peets. The Story was too much like a soap opera performance. Interesting but lacking somehow.

Each of Lindsey Davis’ books send me to the internet to look up Wikipedia entries or videos on Ancient Rome so that I can further explore her real characters, events or locations. The Third Nero was no exception and I found the plot interesting and exciting.
The narration by Lucy Brown is very good but I was continually distracted by how “juicy” her voice sounded. It was like listening to an ASMR recording.

This book does not further the Discworld series.
It does however discuss the origins of our own round Earth and humankind. It does so with real science and interesting facts all weaved together (without narrativium) and peppered with short paragraphs of a story that takes place in the Discworld.
Delightful and educational!
