Love that the main characters are adults
Reviewed: 12-20-24
I love most romance, genres, but I was so glad to find that the main characters were adults with histories and experiences and not 20 something! Enjoyable characters and relationship development

For all that this is a wild adrenaline ride, it’s also an incredible character study of so many personalities, all with their own quirks and warts and tattoos. Sincerely hope book four is in the works! Also, the narrator is amazing, bringing all those diverse characters to life!

I haven’t enjoyed a book as much as this one in a while. The “disasters” were completely believable even as they were hilarious. And the character development was genuine and artfully done.

In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

This is so much more than a memoir. It’s a social, psychological, and emotional study told with humor and compassion and just the right number of f-bombs. Memoirs are not my usual genre but I can’t recommend this book enough.
