Story
An iconic and controversial figure in American literature, Hunter S. Thompson displayed a brilliance that forever changed journalism. Thompson’s follow-up to The Proud Highway, this second volume of private, never-before-published letters spans the years 1968 through 1976. Addressed to such luminaries as Tom Wolfe, Kurt Vonnegut, and Jimmy Carter, this incisive collection showcases Thompson’s raw and starkly honest thoughts on a pivotal era in U.S. history.

The performance and the story

I’ll always love and miss Thompson’s pure insanity and his insightful words. This book truly is a classic because it intertwines his observations in terms of covering an election, and being able to state subliminally put both parties into the shredder and wants the reader to make up their own mind. Long live Gonzo journalism!!!

Dean Koontz did a really good job with this one!!!

As the story unfurled, I became more and more hooked on what was going to happen next. Pretty much every twist and turn in the story was a captivating one in my opinion. I also felt for the characters and what they were going through. Which made this book a damn good read too! The ideas and concepts in this book were original and strange as well. Dean Koontz tends to think of VERY weird stuff and that's a big reason why I like him. As a side note, the last Dean Koontz novel I read was great until the abysmal end which was "Phantoms." I loathed it. However, "Watchers," to me didn't disappoint very much at all. For me, it was like his comeback. In short, it was a very good read and I do recommend it. That's just my opinion though...

Story
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children.

A wonderful experience all around!

In my opinion, this novel came together quite well. First, this story was both epic and to tell the truth was absolutely insane...In a good way though! I can't explain how crazy this novel was for me because "It," is a book one has to experience for themselves. Needless to say, the writing was superb because it's written by Stephen King. Second, the performance read by Steven Weber was very well done too. He had very distinct voices for most of the character's in this novel and I really loved his unique approach to the voice of Pennywise. Finally, I thought that the entire story was gripping pretty much most of the way through. I desperately wanted to find out what Pennywise's true form was in this book and the final twist was something I didn't expect at all! In short, this was one hell of a novel! :)
