Story
You are born to a king, but marry a tyrant. You stand helplessly as he sacrifices your child to placate the gods. You watch him wage war on a foreign shore and you comfort yourself with violent thoughts of your own. You play the part, fooling enemies who deny you justice. And slowly, you plot. But when your husband returns in triumph, what then? Acceptance or vengeance—death follows both. So you bide your time and force the gods' hands in a wretched game of vengeance.

Clytemnestra is my girl! I like her and think she's bad a$$. This is a really good retelling of her story, from her point of view. She is hard to like at times in this one but I'm still on her side. I listened to the audio book. It's read by Olivia Vinall. She does an amazing job.

I listened to the audiobook version. Most of the stories are captivating and enlightening. I liked the worksheets? Questionnaires? It is inspiring and I will continue to look into plant medicine. I'm very interested in it. I do wish there was more of "how to" in here.

Story
Phaedra has been cast to the side all her life: daughter of an adulteress, sister of a monster, and now unwilling bride to the much-older, power-hungry Theseus. Young, naïve, and idealistic, she has accepted her lot in life, resigned to existing under the sinister weight of Theseus’s control and the constant watchful eye of her handsome stepson Hippolytus. When supposedly pious Hippolytus assaults her, Phaedra’s world is darkened in the face of untouchable, prideful power. In the face of injustice, Phaedra refuses to remain quiet any longer.

Boy did this book get my blood boiling! If I had been in a more private place while reading & listening to this book, I would've screamed with rage at some of the scenes & dialogue. I listened to the audiobook which had a cast of narrators. The bard... man. I hated him but thankfully his scene is short. There are many pronunciations in here that are way different than any I have ever heard. They are jarring and take you out of the story. At the time of this review, I have not looked up the reason why they went with them. The Night Chorus is done so beautifully. I loved how that was executed. Anyways, I thought the author did a great job of making this myth relatable to the modern day. It's really, really sad women are still having this fight. You'll see what I mean when you read this and you should. I've read any of these mythology retellings and this one is just as good as all of the previous ones I've read. It did take a minute to get invested in the story (side eye that freakin bard) but don't give up on it. I would most definitely read more from this author.

Story
Money's tight and their new home is a fixer-upper. Deep in rural South West England, with an ancient wood at the foot of the garden, Tom and his family are miles from anywhere and anyone familiar. His wife, Fiona, was never convinced that buying the money-pit at auction was a good idea. Not least because the previous owner committed suicide. Though no one can explain why.

Another great, surreal read by Adam Nevill. Good story, absolute awful neighbors (they are supposed to be terrible). Great setting, made me want to read Wylding Hall again. This one did seem a little too similar to The Reddening for my taste. But will that keep me from reading more by this author? Heck no! Adam is a great author!

I loved this book! This story is the history of the Orchires witches. It's full, rich and complex. It's beautiful, real and tragic. The characters are so different from one another yet tied together by blood and the craft as they call it. It's beautiful to hear from the craft waxes and wanes throughout time. If you like witchy kind of books, you will love this one. I listened to the audio book, read by Polly Lee. I have listened to a few other books narrated by her. She was wonderful as always. I will most definitely read or listen to more from this author.

Story
In 1692, Bridget Bishop was hanged as a witch. Two hundred years later, her legacy lives on in the scions of two very different lines: one dedicated to using their powers to heal and help women in need; the other, determined to grasp power for themselves by whatever means necessary. This clash will play out in the fate of Annis, a young woman in Gilded Age New York who finds herself a pawn in the family struggle for supremacy. She'll need to claim her own power to save herself - and resist succumbing to the darkness that threatens to overcome them all.

THIS BOOK!! It was SO good! It was picked as one of the group reads for one of the book clubs I'm in (Horror Aficionados) so I downloaded the audio book and started listening. I know I glanced over what it was about but by the time I started listening, I didn't remember everything. The characters in this book was realistic. The relationships between all the characters felt real too. The world building is phenomenal. The suspense in this book had me on the edge of my seat. I had no idea who did what and why but omg i couldn't stop listening, I just had to find out. I loved it. Another outstanding read by Mr. Malfi!
The amazing Joe Hempel reads this. He did a great job, just as he always does. It's always a delight to hear him read.

Without functioning navigation or communication equipment, they are lost and completely alone. One by one, the men fall prey to a mysterious illness. Deckhand Noah Cabot is the only person unaffected by the strange force plaguing the ship and her crew, which does little to ease their growing distrust of him.

I enjoyed this audio book which is read by the fabulous PJ Ochlan. I really liked that your thrown right into the chaos with this one. There is chaos, tons of dread and gloom and a constant fight for survival. Some of the characters are really awful, some are just there. If you like your endings in neat boxes with bows, this is not the book for you.

This book is way too long. it started off good but just kept on going! if i had a dollar for every time
1. someone jumped out of a car- usually the MC
2. Lily was tired and didn't have the energy to do the spell but she gets energy from someone else to do it
3. Lily falls down
I'd have enough to buy 20 more books. I will not be continuing this series. The narrator,Rachel Music, did a great job though. And she didn't have to take anyone's energy or magic to do so! ; )

Now Cody and Willet are bent on revenge, but neither of them suspects what they’re really up against. For the actors are vampires. Their thirst for human blood is insatiable.
