Story
The city of the gods. Elantris once stood as the symbol of all that is beautiful. A sprawling metropolis of unrivaled grandeur, it was a symbol of power and strength, built to be as imposing as it was magnificent. But Elantris fell...10 years ago.

This is the second novel by Brandon Sanderson I have listened to on Graphic Audio. The voice actors and music pull emotion into the already compelling story. With a third act that is full of twists and turns, the story also resolves soundly, while leaving you wishing for more. I will need to read one of the series he has written for the sake of having more content to enjoy.

Story
When Shai is caught replacing the Moon Scepter with her nearly flawless forgery, she must bargain for her life. An assassin has left the Emperor Ashravan without consciousness, a circumstance concealed only by the death of his wife. If the emperor does not emerge after his hundred-day mourning period, the rule of the Heritage Faction will be forfeit and the empire will fall into chaos. Shai is given an impossible task: to create - to Forge - a new soul for the emperor in less than 100 days. But her soul-Forgery is considered an abomination by her captors.

Compelling story, leaves you thinking. Teaches without outright saying. Great voice actors. A story that connects you with his previous novels without obvious or cheap allusions.

Story
Warbreaker is the story of two sisters, who happen to be princesses, the God King one of them has to marry, the lesser god who doesn’t like his job, and the immortal who’s still trying to undo the mistakes he made hundreds of years ago. Their world is one in which those who die in glory return as gods to live confined to a pantheon in Hallandren’s capital city and where a power known as BioChromatic magic is based on an essence known as breath that can only be collected one unit at a time from individual people.

Lots of twists and turns. This was my first Brandon Sanderson novel that takes place in the Cosmere. Good enough for me to read the others! Interesting underlying themes of belief, power, and responsibility.
