Story
The story of how The Godfather was made is as dramatic, operatic, and entertaining as the film itself. Over the years, many versions of various aspects of the movie’s fiery creation have been told - sometimes conflicting, but always compelling. Mark Seal sifts through the evidence, has extensive new conversations with director Francis Ford Coppola and several heretofore silent sources, and complements them with colorful interviews with key players including actors Al Pacino, James Caan, Talia Shire, and others.

Almost perfect

This was a fascinating look into the behind-the-scenes of making one of the greatest films and books of all time.
The ONLY reason I’m giving it 4 stars for story was because there were three very long sections of “notes” involving the back-and-forth between Coppola and his team pre-filming about how they might handle minute details, and it got boring and dragged on. Otherwise, top marks, and this is one I’d recommend to any Godfather/mafia fan either way.

Story
Bruce Silver is the author of the Riftbreaker novels, one of the most popular, beloved fantasy book series of all time. He's got everything he's ever dreamed of having: freedom to tell the stories he wants to tell, legions of enthusiastic fans who wait eagerly to see what he'll write next, and a really nice car. But despite all that, Bruce finds himself dissatisfied, battling an ennui he can't quite put his finger on. So he decides to do what anyone would do in his situation: burn it all down by unexpectedly killing off Carpathian Einzgear, Riftbreaker's cherished hero.

Phenomenal story. Phenomenal voice acting. This is NOT your typical GameLit or LitRPG story, which makes it all the more refreshing and cool. Great voices, solid storytelling, great depth of characterization.
Be forewarned: the first chapter will feel weird and overblown, but that’s part of the experience. Just go with it!

Story
Out-of-work Latin teacher and borderline alcoholic Austin DeSantis is determined to spend his final days in the arms of a prostitute—that is if the aliens don’t exterminate humanity first. But when the aliens land at the Vatican, begin speaking Latin, and reveal themselves to be Catholic, the world turns upside down. Pressed into service as a translator and thrust into the center of humanity's first contact with a cryptic alien race, Austin must uncover their true intentions before religious turmoil rips the planet apart.

Fantastic performance, heartfelt story

I expected this to be more comedic, but to my delight, the author played it straight. The premise is outlandish, but the execution is solemn (in a good way) and deeply meaningful. Great writing and storytelling, and as always, a fantastic performance by Jeff Hays, Justin Thomas James, Annie Ellicott, and Gary Francis Furlong.

A fun union of some of JR’s best works
Reviewed: 09-26-22
I had a blast listening to this story. We follow Dark Horse and his team as they once again try to save the universe and humanity from a terrible threat, but this time they’re joined by some surprise guests from JR’s other books. It truly becomes a team effort.
The story seemed a little directionless at the beginning and toward the middle, but by the end, everything was much clearer and super enjoyable and fun, like all of JR’s books. Would recommend it to anyone who loves a great action story with a hefty dose of sci-fi!

Absolute banger of a book!

Just when you think it can’t get better—or weirder, or wilder—Ben Wolf delivers in spectacular fashion! The stakes get raised even higher than the previous book, and there’s plenty of rambunctiousness to go around. Familiar characters return, plus we get some new ones who really enhance the flavor of the book.
This is a must-listen, and Andy McCain rocks the narration. Get it now!
