Story
If you believe God is the progenitor of everything, then music has to fall under that umbrella. Thus, making hip-hop a God thing. But how a thing starts doesn’t mean that’s how it’ll remain. The RAPture is a study in hip-hop theology that navigates the listener through hip-hop’s origins to its impact on society and how religion has its hands in all of it.

I really enjoyed the way Pastor Mike used his knowledge and love for music to deliver this message. I respect the fact he was honest about his relationship with music and he wasn’t afraid to express that. As a music lover I was able to pick up on his musical references and gain some biblical insights. I would recommend this book for all!

Story
Despite the straight As Brian gets in school, there’s still plenty of trouble swirling around him all the time, threatening to drag him down into it. Brian has no father and his mother, Deahnna, works two jobs and is never around. His teacher, Jawan White, came from the same streets as Brian, and he knows there’s more in Brian’s future than being a thug, but his constant lecturing isn’t helping matters any. But when Jawan falls for Deahnna, and Brian’s girlfriend learns she’s pregnant, that’s when the real drama begins.
