Lifelong best friends Max and Jesse are six stories high working a construction job, when the gates of Hell explode in downtown Cleveland. They bear witness to the furious beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse. Trapped in the middle of the city, the pair must fight their way back to the only thing that matters…their families.

Military veteran Jake Hathaway is facing the beginning of a zombie outbreak, one that forces him to take lives and sees him wrongly convicted of murder. As he fights to prove his innocence, he also learns that he unknowingly played a role in the outbreak's origin. The world outside the prison descends into the chaos of a zombie plague. Jake, along with his friends Mack, Duy, and a Belgian Malinois named Roscoe, determine that they must put an end to this Infection Armageddon. What follows is a journey both exciting and horrific.

Our heroes have gone their separate ways in an effort to save Trip and unify their fight against the Overseers, who have an evil plot to take over not only this world, but all worlds. Mike asks for and receives help, but not in any way he could have prepared for, as Jack finds himself in the uncomfortable position of filling Otter’s shoes. Can Jack and Mike find a way to destroy the evil that has been unwittingly unleashed or will they succumb like every other civilization the enemy has encountered?
