Story
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

This is a great story if you are familiar with the tropes and lore of the Legend of Zelda games. The main character is great and easy to like, the story is fun, and the references are hilarious. The ways she gets around some of the most difficult challenges is great.

Story
Are you hungry to help others through leadership but don't feel like you have the authority? One of the greatest myths of leadership is that you must be in charge in order to lead. Great leaders don't buy it. Great leaders - whether they have the official authority or not - learn how to be an influential presence wherever they are. In How to Lead When You're Not in Charge, author and pastor Clay Scroggins explains the nature of leadership and what's needed to be a great leader - even when you answer to someone else.

More Preaching than advice
Reviewed: 05-17-20
I got this thinking it was a business focused book but I'd say its 80% evangelizing and preaching with some advice in the background. I tried to push through it and if it was some spiritual background to real advice I would've been fine, but is seems more like preaching with some advice sprinkled in. If you are a Christian looking for advice about how to lead with your faith this book will be great, but it wasn't what I was looking for. It is well written and well performed, but not what I thought it would be given the cover, title, and description.

Story
Hello World takes us on a tour through the good, the bad, and the downright ugly of the algorithms that surround us on a daily basis. Mathematician Hannah Fry reveals their inner workings, showing us how algorithms are written and implemented, and demonstrates the ways in which human bias can literally be written into the code. By weaving in relatable, real world stories with accessible explanations of the underlying mathematics that power algorithms, Hello World helps us to determine their power, expose their limitations, and examine whether they really are improvements.

Great Analysis of our lives with Algorithms
Reviewed: 09-14-19
Hannah does a great job in explaining what algorithms are, what their limits are, and why we should still use them, but with caution. By dividing the book into different fields she shows how algorithms can be used and abused in different situations and the consequences of trusting algorithms absolutely. This book should be read by everyone today to have a better idea of how algorithms and data work behind the scenes and to better understand algorithms in general. This is especially important as they are being used more in law enforcement, healthcare, and self driving cars. Hannah does an amazing job of explaining things in a way anyone could understand and explaining the potential issues with the algorithms while still being optimistic about their use. She also does a great job narrating. I will recommend this book to everyone I know!

Not as good as the last but still good
Reviewed: 03-14-18
This book wasn't quite as good as the first book, but a good change for the series. The contrast between New Cago and Babylon Restored was really nice and fun to see David experience. The new characters were interesting but I missed Abraham and Cody. The development of epics was just enough to learn more while still keeping things interesting. I would highly recommend this series.

Fantastic Twist on a Superhero story
Reviewed: 02-20-18
This book was great. It takes a typical sci-fi story, superheros appearing in the world, And throws a twist on it, they believe they are gods and can do whatever they please. The performance, characters, and story are fantastic. There are a few twists and turns throughout the story with enough clues to keep you guessing but be able to figure them out. I loved how bad david was at metaphors and how itenjoyed became part of his character. I loved guessing and trying to figure out what steelheart's weakness was. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.

Great story and Characters
Reviewed: 02-02-18
I loved listening to this story. The way they use their abilities is awesome and the twists in the story were great. I only have a few issues/complaints. 1. I wish the narrator used different voices for characters to make it easier to distinguish them, but this is acceptable because the narrator is the author and the story is told as if being recounted by Phillip so it makes sense that it would all be the same voice. 2. There were random areas where the sound of the narrator would change, like his voice would suddenly be deeper or a different mic was used. It wasn't awful but a little bit distracting at times. 3. If the young kids in Freepoint weren't allowed to know about powers, how did they hold a super-sim throughout the town with none of the kids finding out about it? 4. What happened to Chad in the final fight? Other than those items. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it highly.
