Story
Love, Lucy is the valentine Lucille Ball left for her fans—a warm, wise, and witty memoir written by Lucy herself. The legendary star of the classic sitcom I Love Lucy was at the pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her life. No comedienne had made America laugh so hard, no television actress had made the leap from radio and B movies to become one of the world’s best-loved performers. This is her story—in her own words.

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet.

I think Wheaton was incredible. I never heard the original, so I'm not starting with that bias. I don't mind that he didn't take great pains for "voices". I thought his cadence and infliction were perfect for the book.

Great Story, Decent Performance

I loved the story. I found Mr. Big to be a very interesting villain. The picture of Bond's intelligence and ingenuity were well laid out in this story. I felt the narrator did well, except with the American accents, which often seemed rushed with many blatant British pronunciations. I often found that I had to use context more than voice to determine which character was speaking. Other than that, overall enjoyable.

Story
The Battle of Serenity Valley was the turning point that led the Independents to their defeat at the hands of the Alliance. Yet the Browncoats had held the valley for weeks against all odds, before being ordered to lay down their arms. Command stated they refused to send in airpower because the ground war was "too hot". But the soldiers who were there insist that was not true.... While picking up a new cargo on Persephone, Captain Malcolm Reynolds is kidnapped by a bunch of embittered veteran Browncoats who suspect him of sabotaging the Independents during the war.

Excellent Performance, Good Story

I had to double check the narrator's name because I was so convinced that Nathan Fillion was reading Malcolm Reynold's parts. James Anderson Foster hit the nail on the head with this. One of the most impressive performances I've ever listened to in an audiobook. Honestly, this is the first time I've listened to an audiobook and then went searching for other audiobooks by the same narrator because I was so convinced at how good they would be.
The story it self was good. It really did feel like a Firefly story. I could have easily seen it as an actual episode of the show, had it continued on. The writing really brought the crew that I know from the show out in true character. The ending may be a little rushed, convenient, or predictable, but not so much that I would say it wasn't a good book. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to any fans of the show.

Do you know that it’s almost impossible to find a successful writer who has published only one book? Virtually every widely acclaimed author has an extensive catalog of books. To join the elite ranks of those who write consistently, you need to learn how to stay prolific over the long term. And for that, the number one ingredient is self-discipline.

Writing Is Difficult But Rewarding!
- By Ian P. on 10-09-19
Overall helpful and motivational
Reviewed: 07-09-20
I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review. I've played around with the idea of self-publishing some ebooks for a while. I can honestly say that the information in this book is presented in an easily consumable way that is both helpful and motivational. The ideas weren't groundbreaking, but often good, solid advice isn't. It is straight forward and plain spoken. I would recommend this book to others.
The narrator did a fine job. Sometimes his voice felt a little too monotone and spoken at a robotic pace; however, the chapters were short enough that it wasn't overbearing.
Overall I am glad that I was given the opportunity to read this book, and I would read/listen to this author again.
