I enjoyed the first two books. This one not so much. I couldn't stand to finish it. Maybe book four will be better. Love the narrating.

Story
Scott, Warren, and Missy Walsh did not understand what their roles were to be when the omnipresent light first blinked on. They believed their only obligation was to find a safe place for their small family to escape what was happening all around them. But fate would not allow them to hide away in the North Carolina cabin for long. Now, with their number hovering near a dozen survivors, they must work together - along with Koku, the flawed, self-aware goddess with a long-term memory problem - to preserve Earth for humanity's occupation.

I absolutely enjoyed this series

Overall this is a very great series. I like the uniqueness of the plot. I did get annoyed at bits and pieces of the last book Scabs 3, but the author ended the series very satisfactory. I really liked that I could not predict what would happen to the characters, but struggled with some of the choices they made. Even with the few annoyances I'm glad I read this series. I was hooked on the first book, and couldn't wait for book 2 and 3. It did not disappoint.

Story
We all have inner demons. We fight them all the time. Some of us achieve inner peace by coming to terms with them. But how do you come to terms with inner demons that tear free and become outer demons? Eric has been a vampire for nearly a century, and his demons are more than metaphors. While they controlled him, he was the Demon King. Now he has to avoid the monsters in his own mind, as well as angry nobles, fanatical religions, assassins, magi, other vampires, criminal organizations, and more.

Overall the book wasn't that bad. I liked most of it. But, that ending and the stupidity? I'm speechless. With that said, I am glad that I did not listen to the other reviews and didn't skip this one. It does have some fun things inside. But I have to say, the ending almost ruined it whole book. If you are on the fence about getting this book, I recommend it. Just don't expect the reviews about the ending to be wrong. Like I said, the overall book I rather liked.

Story
The shots came quickly, silently, and with deadly accuracy. Within seconds, three people were dead at Central Park's ice skating rink. The victims: a talented young skater, a doctor, and a teacher. As random as random can be. Eve Dallas has seen a lot of killers during her time with the NYPSD, but never one like this. After reviewing security videos, it becomes clear that the victims were killed by a sniper firing a tactical laser rifle, who could have been miles away when the trigger was pulled.

Good Story, so so narrating

I love the series, so I thought why not try audio. At first, I disliked the narrator so much due to her harsh tones, and yelling narrative style. However, she is good at giving each character a different voice, even though it wasn't in the voice I imagined each character would have. I'm not sure I would give audio anotger try for this series. Still enjoy the series however.

it took me a few rewinds to get into the story as I am new to audio. But once I caught on it was a Rollercoaster of an emotional ride. I felt for the team and their struggle to understand and get a grip on what was going while losing team members and trying to save humanity and keep the rest of the team alive.
