Story
The Broken Mirror: Refracted Visions of Ourselves explores the need to know ourselves more deeply, and the many obstacles that stand in our way. The various sections illustrate internal obstacles such as intimidation by the magnitude of the project, the readiness to avoid the hard work, and gnawing self-doubt, but also provide tools to strengthen consciousness to take these obstacles on. Additional essays address living in haunted houses, the necessity of failure, and the gift and limits of therapy.

Thankfully there is a speed setting on the app - I’m used to James Hollis reading his own work - inserting thoughtful pauses and inflections - reading at a pace that provides time to ingest and process the potent material. The only reason I’m sticking with this performance is because Hollis’ content is always helpful and needed.

Story
How do we love in a time of rage? How do we fix a broken world while not breaking ourselves? Valarie Kaur - renowned Sikh activist, filmmaker, and civil rights lawyer - describes revolutionary love as the call of our time, a radical, joyful practice that extends in three directions: to others, to our opponents, and to ourselves. It enjoins us to see no stranger but instead look at others and say: You are part of me I do not yet know. Starting from that place of wonder, the world begins to change.

My imagination is ignited, my love for humanity on the path of potential healing. I was desperate for these words and vision, and didn’t know it.
