Story
In Northern California two successful CEOs are both indispensable to their growing companies' futures. Both are brilliant at the power game. But the difference between them is huge. One is a man, the other a woman. In this riveting novel, Danielle Steel explores what that means as she takes listeners into the rarefied world of those at the pinnacle of international business and reveals the irrevocable choices they make, what drives them, and how others perceive them. The heady drug of power impacts everything they do.

This purchase was totally worth it. It was pretty typical DS read but it had some very interesting historic references that furthered the story so well. The narrator was very good and I was sad to hear it end. Some parts were predictable but that's what is comfortable about DS books. I would totally buy this again.

I am not overly into romance stories of this nature any longer but this one was very good. It had the same sappy love story but the twist of time travel made it fresh. It was well worth the read as long as you realize that this is not Chekhov. I'd buy it again in a minute.

I was so bored with this book, I didn't even finish it and I usually love Danielle Steel, face it, writes a lot of fluff, which I usually enjoy.

Story
The Maxwells and the Popes have been friends forever. The women were college roommates, their husbands are partners in the same law firm, their kids have grown up next door to each other, and the two families share both vacations and holidays. Like Wisteria Lane, the "perfect" suburban street of Desperate Housewives, all is beautiful and serene - until an accident forces these close neighbors to look beneath the surface. In this moving, unforgettable story, Barbara Delinsky exquisitely captures the depth and complexity of the human heart as few writers can.

This was a very good book. It went into too much detail at times but the author read the story very narratively so it was easy to hear that he was proud of his work and had done a good job of research.
I really wanted to hear more after listening. More detail followups on some of the characters, actually. I have listened to some chapters over to capture missed details. Husband and I listened to it on a road trip and it definitely was worth purchasing.
