these books are getting better and better
Reviewed: 08-02-17
if you enjoyed Book 2 book 3 is very very good the series is slowly getting better. My biggest complaint remains with the first two and that the audio normalization is wildly erratic going from super quiet to super loud and is painful on the ears. I really hope book for has better production values.

Story
An orphan's life is harsh---and often short---in the island city of Camorr, built on the ruins of a mysterious alien race. But born with a quick wit and a gift for thieving, Locke Lamora has dodged both death and slavery, only to fall into the hands of an eyeless priest known as Chains---a man who is neither blind nor a priest. A con artist of extraordinary talent, Chains passes his skills on to his carefully selected "family" of orphans---a group known as the Gentlemen Bastards.

the audio production on this is really bad
Reviewed: 06-28-17
it was very hard to follow how the author writes the first 45 minutes or so to get a firm grasp of what was going on but if you stick with it it gets better and better. Michael page does an amazing job with all the accents however the audio producer needs to be fired. the audio goes from very very loud to extremely quiet narration over and over and was maddening to listen to.

Story
For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Story
For over a century, humans, dwarves, gnomes, and elves have lived together in relative peace. But times have changed, the uneasy peace is over, and now the races are fighting once again. The only good elf, it seems, is a dead elf. Geralt of Rivia, the cunning assassin known as The Witcher, has been waiting for the birth of a prophesied child. This child has the power to change the world - for good, or for evil.

if you've played the games and loved them, this is incredibly enjoyable all the way through. The performance is really exceptional to the point that I think he's the best orator I've heard in any audio book ever. My only 'complaint' is that Ciri and Geralt are Scottish and not that way in the games so it took some adjustment. People not familiar with this series should start with Last wish for sure or you would feel lost.
