Immortal Guardians!!
Reviewed: 09-11-23
Love the series but am getting tired of the continual explanations of the guardians attributes and vampire differences. If by this time we don’t know about preternatural (ugh, that term) speed and enhanced hearing, than we haven’t been listening very attentively. If new readers don’t understand, maybe they will go back to the beginning to learn the full stories.
The characters are worth getting invested in but more development would be icing on the cake.

Story
Some people greet the day with open arms. Sheriff Sunshine Vicram would rather give it a hearty shove and get back into bed, because there’s just too much going on right now. There’s a series of women going missing, and Sunny feels powerless to stop it. There’s her persistent and awesomely-rebellious daughter Auri, who’s out to singlehandedly become Del Sol’s youngest and fiercest investigator. And then there’s drama with Levi Ravinder—the guy she’s loved and lusted after for years. The guy who might just be her one and only.

Being 40 is supposed to be freaking fabulous, not fatal. Taking on a daunting new job minus the description isn’t the smartest move I’ve ever made, even if it was to save a friend. Hopefully, it doesn’t turn out to be the stupidest...or deadliest. Why can’t things stay the way they were? I love my old job. Supergluing ghosts back together and solving their issues is its own reward. Not to mention, I’m seriously good at it. Although, I must say, I’m ridiculously excited for the new Death Counselor’s arrival in nine months....

Love the series but was disappointed with this episode. Not the premise of the story, but the telling. Two chapters were well written at the beginning but then reiterated word for word at the end. Booorrrring!!
I will listen to the next episode in the saga because I love the characters. Just hope Ms Peterman gives her readers a story worth their time

Wonderful romance with sexual tension right from the start. It’s a shame there was no mention of Kate’s birthday present.

Story
Greg Donahue’s The Minuteman, tells the story of one of Newark’s native sons; ex-prizefighter and longtime Zwillman enforcer Sidney Abramowitz, a.k.a. Nat Arno, who took over leadership of the Minutemen in 1934 and made it his personal business to put an end to what he saw as the Bund’s “anti-American” activities. For six years, Arno and his crew of vigilantes battled Newark’s Nazis at every turn. The Minuteman is a story of the ethics of violence in the face of fascism; a forgotten legacy that is as relevant now as it was nearly a hundred years ago.

Reviewed: 03-02-17
I've "read" every BDB story and fall more in love with each one. The Legacy stories are just the kind we need to keep the series going. The back story on Axe was nicely set up but not as rounded out as it could have been. I know the speed at which the books are being produced to keep the audience happy is daunting, it is also keeping the author from being able to flesh out the plots. Won't keep me from waiting impatiently for next one!!
