Story
Kitty Hart has become internet famous as the Kitty Whisperer for her expertise on all things feline, and as a result, her cat-sitting business is booming. But lately, she has a terrible feeling that maybe her life isn’t quite going where it’s supposed to—especially after falling face-first into her newest client. Not exactly the best first impression. Fortunately, Miles Thorn is just as bad at first impressions. Strike one: he doesn’t like cats, especially Prince Francis, the haughty and mischievous Sphynx his mom left in his care.

Immature writing with a lackluster climax
Reviewed: 07-15-23
The writing felt very immature. The use of "drop a deuce" in literature is cringe inducing. The storyline itself would be cite but there was almost zero climax to the story. What I assume was the climactic part of the story was nothing more than just a side story. The whole book felt very forced including the performance.

Story
They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of glittering summers on the lakeshore of her childhood, she spends them in a stylish apartment in the city, going out with friends, and keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart. Until she receives the call that sends her racing back to Barry’s Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek—the man she never thought she’d have to live without.

A beautifully predictable story

Predictable? Yes. But in a sweet, rom-com, happy ending sort of way. It's an easy listen that draws you in, excited to get to the end.

Story
A successful film professor and podcaster, Bodie Kane is content to forget her past—the family tragedy that marred her adolescence, her four largely miserable years at a New Hampshire boarding school, and the murder of her former roommate, Thalia Keith, in the spring of their senior year. Though the circumstances surrounding Thalia’s death and the conviction of the school’s athletic trainer, Omar Evans, are hotly debated online, Bodie prefers—needs—to let sleeping dogs lie.

long and slow, but beautiful story
Reviewed: 06-17-22
The book gets pretty long and slow at times. It also can get confusing jumping back and forth and all around. It's a beautiful story, different from the usual WWII books. The narrators voice is better e r suited for calming sleep time books but she did a good job going between the many characters voices. Worth a read but just know you'll find yourself tuning out and have ro go back quite often.

For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

The narrator was great but the writing us mediocre. Story line is predictable, and just basically follows every single scary movie/book trope. Fine to finish but wouldn't recommend.

Story
At the height of World War II, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, was home to 75,000 residents, consuming more electricity than New York City. But to most of the world, the town did not exist. Thousands of civilians - many of them young women from small towns across the South - were recruited to this secret city, enticed by solid wages and the promise of war-ending work. Kept very much in the dark, few would ever guess the true nature of the tasks they performed each day in the hulking factories in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains.

padded storyline with unnecessary information
Reviewed: 04-14-21
Got half way through but just couldn't finish. The narrator is fine, though sometimes sounding as of she is doing her best Moira Rose impression. The story just jumps all over the place with so much information that feels it was added to pad the book, but not needed for the story. I kept listening thinking we would get to the point but it just never felt like it did.
