Story
Charles Stanley helps you recognize and begin to live with the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit by challenging you in three parts to look up, within, and ahead. Life abundant - Jesus promised it and we long for it, yet few Christians seem to have it. Blending lively anecdotes, commentary, and teachings from the Bible, Charles Stanley introduces you to the Holy Spirit. He is not an oversized electrical current you just plug into when you need additional help, or a theological concept, but just as real and active as Christ.

What I love the most about Mary Weber's books is that she isn't afraid to write about real life issues. I love her incorporation of real problems within the exciting setting of her stories. Rhen is a lovable character who is easy to relate to. I was cheering for her at page one! I definitely wish this was a series!

Story
Anastasia “Nastya” Romanov was given a single mission: to smuggle an ancient spell into her suitcase on her way to exile in Siberia. It might be her family’s only salvation. But the leader of the Bolshevik army is after them, and he’s hunted Romanov before. Nastya’s only chances of saving herself and her family are either to release the spell and deal with the consequences, or to enlist help from Zash, a handsome soldier who doesn’t act like the average Bolshevik. Nastya has only dabbled in magic, but it doesn’t frighten her half as much as her growing attraction to Zash.

I was a huge fan of Fawkes, so I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Romanov. Oh my goodness, this book had me on the edge of my seat! I laughed with the characters. I cried with the characters. I was completely engrossed in the story.
I love how Nadine has a talent to weave a heart-wrenching story with encouraging messages. I can't wait to see what she'll write next!

Unexpected ending

Six of Crows was recommended to me years ago and I've just finished reading it now. I thought it was a standalone, but I was wrong. I had previously read Leigh Bardugo's Shadow and Bone trilogy and loved the creativity of the grisha. I'm glad that Six of Crows had the same creativity and well thought out plot.
