As much as I tried to enjoy this book it was simply to difficult to get through. With Ruby Alexander’s narration, the distinction between the female was not there. They all sounded too familiar. Lacking distinctive voices also made it difficult to follow along with the story. I could not make it through.

I had no idea how much I would enjoy this book! It started off a little slow however, once the action gets going I feel in love with it. The story is simpIe: three women (strangers at first) share betrayal, heartbreak and a plan to create havoc for the men who scorned them. Paige and Oliver are center stage in this book and the craziness ensues once Paige enters through the doors of Oliver's house. I could not stop laughing at the antics Paige pulls to drive Oliver crazy. Yet, even with every crazy thing she does, somehow the payback plan begins to change into something completely different. Paige might drive Oliver crazy, but she also ends up helping him more than he knew he needed and vice versa. Once I was invested in the book, I could not put it down and I needed to know how Paige and Oliver's relationship would end. There are some intense moments toward the end so be ready waiting to see how the happily-ever-after comes about for them. Loved it, definitely recommend it!

Too Serious
Reviewed: 06-07-25
A contemporary read dealing with topics of equality, social media and anxiety and a streaming show about sex. While there is a solid attempt to put the romance as the focus, it actually revolves around the three topics. This second chance romance goes back and forth so many times making it feel like the romance of the story is somewhat lost. The plot is slow moving and a repetition of equality in different ways. It overpowers the romance of the book. The book is easy to read and the streaming topic is funny and entertaining at certain parts. However, the book had more of a serious focus than a relaxing one.

Assistant literary agent Freya Harrison never thought her chance at a big break would look like this: at a swanky romance conference in New York, managing the agency’s most insufferable client. Sure, Jake Richards is a global best-selling author, adored by all his fans. But on meeting him, Freya finds him arrogant, condescending, and, worst of all, a complete phony. Love the narrator! Geri Allen does such a great job narrating this book. She has such a smooth and easy narration for all of Walters’s books. Victoria Walters’s book is both charming and filled with wonderful romance all revolving within the world of books. There are spicy moments and just a little suspense to keep the reader moving forward. As with other books, her books are embedded in a plot surrounded by books and romance appealing to romance readers everywhere. Any book lover will find charm and delight in the romance of her books.

What delightful and perfect book to listen to! Karen Cass gives a nice narration although I found the distinction between the characters lacking. The male voices had less distinction than the female characters.
I loved the premise of the book; a vacation villa mix-up where Molly and her three friends find themselves in a double-booking situation with four guys. Well, all is fair in love and . . . villas? Both parties are there to attend weddings, so with a two week stay on the line, both parties decide on some competitive fun to see who gets to stay. The crazy competition ideas everyone comes up with in order to best the others is funny and creative. There is plenty of sass, banter and attraction between characters. And when you are finally approaching the end, there are a few surprises. Enjoy listening!

Story
Beloved romance author Margot Bradley has a dark secret: she doesn’t believe in Happily Ever Afters. Not for herself, not for her readers, and not even for her characters, for whom she secretly writes alternate endings that swap weddings and babies for divorce papers and the occasional slashed tire. When her Happily Never After document is hacked and released to the public, she finds herself canceled by her readers and dropped by her publisher. Desperate to find a way to continue supporting her chronically ill sister, Savannah, Margot decides to trade meet-cutes for murder.

Some Many Tropes!
Reviewed: 04-14-25
Any Trope but You is such a good listen! Jesse Villinsky & Tim Paige are great narrators for this book. Villinsky covers most of the narration which is no surprise since this is Margo's story. With their narrations, I was invested in Margo's story and her time in Alaska to regroup and reinvent herself after a livestream podcast gone wrong. Forrest, radiates “leave me alone” vibes. Jesse Villinsky is very good narrating Forrest's voice and Margo's annoyance when she discovers he is holding precious letters from her. I was so engrossed in this narration and in each trope appearing, Margo and Forrest and everything else that I was at the end before I knew it. I strongly recommend listening to this book!

When romcom author Allie Edwards crosses paths with bestselling crime novelist – aka publishing dinosaur – Martin Clark at a party, they discover they both have crippling writer’s block, overdue manuscripts and precisely zero words to show to their respective editors. With deadlines looming, Allie and Martin decide to switch plots and tell each other’s stories. In the writing process, Allie not only gains a father-figure in Martin, but also meets gorgeous events caterer Will, the answer to the leading man-shaped hole in her life and her lack of spicy material.

I enjoyed the audiobook just as much as the book. Cicely Whitehead is a wonderful narrator. I was very impressed how each character voice was so distinct from others. That does not always happen but when it does there is a stronger connection to the characters and the story. Personally, I look forward to listening to more of her narrations.

Liked the Story, Not the Narrators
Reviewed: 03-23-25
Cassie Connor’s book is very light-hearted, plus an easy listen. I was able to listen to the entire book in one day. The story itself has plenty of strong attraction and chemistry which leads to a whole lot of spicy and steamy moments between Lily and Tate. While light-hearted and fun, it was difficult to enjoy at times with de Winter's and Garrett's narrations. Neither seemed to genuinely fit their character very well. Garrett narrated Tate as almost always irritated. I did not see Tate like this as a character all the time. Tate has varying emotions but Garrett narrates very little of those emotions until much later in the book. de Winters did a nice job with Lily although, once again, I did not feel a strong connection. It took me a while to adjust to both these narrators. I wanted to listen to the story but I really wish the narrators could have been different. The story itself is nice and quick but I recommend the book, not the audio.

Story
Josephine Davis has spent her entire twenties building Revenant, a fashion brand headquartered in downtown Austin, Texas. When her biggest investor orders Josie to hire a consultant, the last person she expects to be working with is Will Grant—the twin brother of her ex–best friend. Sure, Will and Josie may have shared one mistake of a kiss during senior spring break ten years ago, but they’ve never been friends. She remembers him as moody; he always thought of her as shallow. Romance isn’t on the table for either of them until they blink.

❤️ I am absolutely in love with this book and I enjoyed listening to it! It is heartwarming, charming and built around the sweetest romance ever. I love how well Josephine and Will fit together from the beginning to the end. They are so completely different - Josie is a workaholic who struggles with so many anxieties. However, I was swooning Will and how he managed to understand her so well. There is some spice built into the book, which I feel it is just the right amount especially for these two characters. It all works simply due to balancing one another out. Absolute must listen or read!! ❤️
