Story
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

This book really makes the listener take a good hard look at themselves. And their habits/outlook on life. Because maybe you got served a shit-sandwich but you are gonna have to suck it up and keep going anyway.

Story
After fleeing Ojai, Nicholas, Sophie, Josh, and Scatty emerge in Paris, the City of Lights. Home of Nicholas Flamel. Perenell is still locked up back in Alcatraz and Paris is teeming with enemies. Niccolò Machiavelli, immortal author and art collector, is after them, and time is running. For every day spent without the Book of Abraham the Mage, they age one year, their magic becoming weaker and their bodies more frail. For Flamel, the Prophecy is becoming more and more clear.

Good book, decent narration.

I really enjoyed the story of the book and the effort of the author to make all the fantasy elements somewhat grounded in real life. Whitch makes the story (atleast for me) easier to get deeply emersed into.
I liked the narrators accents but i felt like he often missed the emotions of the scenes and could work on improving the delivery of the emotional content.
But all in all, a good book that is worth a listen!
