Generally acceptable references to intimacy for adult audiences. Very little profanity judiciously used.

One of the most enjoyable books to date.
Great characters, snappy dialog, interesting plot.
I do think I would have enjoyed hearing the main characters speak consistently rather than from the voice characterizations of the two narrators. But that was relatively minor . Looking forward to the next saga and will explore other works by this author.

Great story, but distracting audio errors in the last two chapters. I own the entire series and find this disappointing.
Obviously not the narrator's responsibility, it is distracting.
Otherwise this is an EXCELLENT series. I highly recommend it.

Story
If you can count on one thing from "Madea" Mabel Simmons, star of Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea's Family Reunion, it's that she's got something to say. She's the beloved, hilarious, sharp-witted, pistol-packing grandmother who's watching out and speaking her mind. Now Madea is telling her own story, dishing her memoirs and hard-won, hilarious wisdom in her own inimitable voice (with a little help from her friend Tyler Perry).

I have seen movies, and enjoyed them.
I am glad to have a more in depth view of Madea, and to be reminded of a small round Irish-German grandmother who was moved by the same basic wisdom and love.

1948. After serving with the French Resistance during the Second World War, codenamed La Chatte Noire, Phryne Fisher escaped to Australia in search of sunshine, butter and peace. So she’s furious when tragedy intrudes upon her newfound tranquillity and she discovers a dead man on Somerton Beach - well-dressed, good-looking and with a secret smile on his lips. The police are baffled as to his identity and cause of death - not to mention the scrap of paper bearing the words TAMAM SHUD found upon him, and the coded message in the book from which it was torn.

The narrator's accent distracts
Reviewed: 04-20-21
I enjoyed the content and flow of this short story. I found myself wondering about the whereabouts of Hugh and Dot, Jack and his family, as well as Cec and Bert and the Butlers. I want to know about Jane and Ruth. Perhaps in future works. (Blatant HINT!)
I found the narrator's accent to be rough and lack the polish I have come to expect from Phrynne, who could adapt to all occasions; especially given the excellent German and French the narrator displayed.
This leads me to wonder if the accent is the result of accent or characterization and to hope the characterization of Phrynne improves.
