Story
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

This was a great conclusion to Lydia’s story. It was relative to society through the ages. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

The world has changed. Now, when someone is murdered, they almost always come back to life—and there are professionals, called “dispatchers”, who kill in order to save lives, to give those near the end a second chance. Tony Valdez is a dispatcher, and he has never been busier. But for as much as the world has changed, some things have stayed the same. Greed, corruption, and avarice are still in full swing.

I really liked this series. The premise is fantasy/sci-fi but not ridiculous. And I love Zachary Quinto as an actor. Now he’s one of my favorite narrators as well.

The narrator was good except for male voices. I guess she thinks slowing down and hoarseness make her sound like a man, and it sort of did except all her men were “stoned & strained to talk”I also would’ve liked a little more conclusive ending but it did leave some suspense.

Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

Music too loud
Reviewed: 07-07-21
I didn’t get very far into this book because I was missing dialogue due to the unnecessary and too loud music. If I’m going to be irritated while listening, that defeats the whole purpose. Shame- I like King books and was enjoying the narration when I could hear it.

In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

These 3 stories are not quick, sparse anecdotes, but are developed cases set in post WWII era with great backstories. The narrator has great intonation and kept the character voices recognizable. I love period pieces and the time period was accurately described. I enjoyed this book very much and look forward to more Gumshoe Files!
