The soft voices and interesting stories about different owl species and the researchers was most fascinating and relaxing to me. Really enjoyed this book on Audible.

Brilliant overview and storyline. Details so rich I visualized it like a movie. All pulled together from the tangled web of events in the forest surrounding the yellow house. Highly recommend it. Sublime!

Best way to read President Obama’s book is hearing him read it. Amazing detail of his rise to President, all the challenges faced and his extraordinary successes up to and including the demise of Osama bin Laden.
I’m thrilled to have seen him live once. Now he was a Great President.

I read this book because my father was a Navy Lieutenant dentist attached to the 1st Marine Division Air Wing and later 2nd Division Air Wing. I am reading my Dad’s 432 letters he wrote almost daily to my mother. I wanted to understand more about his abbreviated and censored comments about his daily routines from 7/6/44-9/23/45. For me, Book 3 and Book 2 enlarged the scope of his experiences in the Solomons, Guadalcanal, Samar and Okinawa etc.
I’ve been brought to tears so many times thinking about his 14 months in the Pacific front. I have greatest respect for him and all his fellow Navy and Marines and others. I’m so respectful and impressed with the USA from that time.
I feel much less sorry for myself in this Covid pandemic after the perspective gained learning about WW2 Pacific history.
Ian W. Toll is outstanding in his detailed information told in a concise and compelling way. What a fabulous author!
I bought all three of Toll’s Trilogy of WW2 Pacific front books. Also convinced a relative who’s a VA doctor to do the same. I have these books on Audible and hard copies from Amazon. Books help me see maps and pictures. Best ever!
Now I need to figure out what to do with my Father’s letters from 7/7/44-9/23/45. Maybe a book for my family to read about their Father and Grandfather, Dr.Donatian Meder.
Dad’s letters were written before I was born. He’s deceased now. It’s a time warp reading him talking to Mom. The Toll books gave depth and meaning to this tremendous experience for all Americans and Japanese who were involved.
Everyone should read Ian W. Toll’s Twilight of the Gods. I’m so grateful to Ian Toll for writing.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Alexander Hamilton came to life in the telling of this story. He was remarkable! Every American should read or listen to this book. You learn how in many ways the characters and their ideas from back then are repeating history today within our US government. Very enlightening on so many levels. Read it!

Michelle Obama is my hero for sharing such an intimate portrait of her life. She brought me to tears several times telling of experiences being raised in a middle class Chicago family, excelling in schools, and attending two of America’s best universities. Her legal career and work in non-profits was news. Friendships with powerful women showed she surrounded herself with talented people. Her life with Barack was fascinating. Raising Sasha and Malia under the glare of public eyes was a balancing act she managed well.
I have only good to say about her book. It’s educational, optimistic and makes me recall the principles which I also hold important.
Everyone, Americans and citizens of the world should read MICHELLE OBAMA BECOMING. Already I’ve given three copies to friends from India and America.
I loved listening to Michelle reading.
First class book by a First class Lady.
Mrs. Obama, just in case you ever read these comments, THANK YOU!!!

Russell Shorto created a vivid history of the American Revolutionary War period. Six characters make the struggles for freedom actually come alive. Most interesting way to present history in this compelling read. Author reading it gives authentic quality to this brilliant book.

I don’t cry during books, but Trevor’s stories had me crying several times. The telling of Trevor Noah’s life by himself is so worthwhile. You learn so much you’ve never even imagined. And now he shares his courage and humor on his comedy show. I wish him, his mother and brothers the best life has to offer. Great story!
