Story
In this long-awaited memoir, songwriter and keyboardist Jonathan Cain takes us on an odyssey from center stage with Journey when all America was listening to songs like "Don't Stop Believin'", "Faithfully", and "Open Arms", to his hope and faith today. He tells of the thrilling moments when the music came together and offers an inside look at why Steve Perry left and the extraordinary story of their gifted new vocalist, Arnel Pineda. Cain's journey wasn't always easy - and his true arrival in life had more to do with faith than fame.

If you were/are a Journey fan, this is the not the autobiographical enlightenment we were wishing for.
Simply, its not what I was expecting or hoping for.
If one wants a detailed backstory of the once, phenomenal, lifechanging and decade defining band-sadly, this will not satisfy your hopes.
John sounds like he is a fantastic guy and I hold his position in rock history, very high. I thank him for his music every time I hit shuffle on itunes and the notes from that amazing keyboard riff hits my grateful and welcoming ears. Its like an old best friend returning-like they never left.
In retrospect, I think maybe we are better off with taking Steves que and just let the past be what it is, let the legend and the magic be appreciated by us, as we believe it to be, in our own hearts and memories.
Thanks for the music and the memories, John!
Faithfully...

Story
As a young kid growing up in a farm town, Ross Mathews might as well have wished for a pet unicorn or a calorie-free cookie tree to grow in his front yard. Either of those far-fetched fantasies would have been more likely to come true than his real dream: working in television in Hollywood, California. Seriously, that stuff just doesn't happen to people like Ross. But guess what. It totally did.

Engaging, charming, smart, touching, gossipy and waaay too short.
Heres to part two! Keep em' coming Ross!

Story
An early architect of punk rock's sound, style, and fury, whose lip-curling sneer and fist-pumping persona vaulted him into pop's mainstream as one of MTV's first megastars, Billy Idol remains, to this day, a true rock 'n' roll icon. Now, in his long-awaited autobiography, Dancing with Myself, Idol delivers an electric, searingly honest account of his journey to fame - from his early days as front man of the pioneering UK punk band Generation X to the decadent life atop the dance-rock kingdom he ruled.

Amazing story told by the legend himself.
Honest, Raw and FINALLY an unsanitized rock bio.
But...dont expect the story of the iconic raised lip... ;)
Cheers Billy and thanks for being on the soundtrack of my life.

Its weird, but I am so thankful for Leah telling us this story herself, hearing her words in her voice, was a gift.
I am legally blind and sometimes find myself douting or feeling bad about my condition-hearing her story, left me feeling empowered and looking forward to continuing on with a true sense of thankfulness. Sure, she has money and influence but shes still one of us, a human, on this planet with different problems of our own-just trying our best to get through them.
Leah-If you ever read this ;) I'd love to give you a hug and maybe share a glass or two of wine- the least I could do to thank you for sharing!
Cheers!

Though very well written, I couldn't help being disappointed in that the book did not delve as deep into the aftermath of the abdication as it did before it.
